Hey guys, Some of you may remember but I conducted a poll at the start of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. I would like to start this up once more considering the NBA season is now over and we can get to this discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best.

C Rankings DONT FORGET TO VOTE!!

1) Dwight Howard
2) Yao Ming
3) Al Jefferson
4) Shaquille O'Neal
5) Andrea Bargnani
6) Andris Biedrins
7)
8)
9)
10)

Last Years C Rankings:

1) Dwight Howard
2) Yao Ming
3) Al Jefferson
4) Andrew Bynum
5) Chris Kaman
6) Tyson Chandler
7) Shaquille O'Neal
8) Marcus Camby
9) Jermaine O'neal
10) Andrew Bogut

In my opinion Emeka Okafor is going to struggle in the west against players like Gasol, Duncan and Stoudemire.

In my opinion Emeka Okafor is going to struggle in the west against players like Gasol, Duncan and Stoudemire.

In 30 games this year, Okafor scored more PPG in fewer minutes vs the West.
In 30 Games last year Okafor scored more in less time
In 21 Games the year before that Okafor not only averaged more PPG, but he shot 58% against the West compared to 50% against the East

The only question I have to ask is, why?

Okafor or Nene easily.

Maybe because they have a well polished game which is very hard to contain.

I'm assuming you're upset about Bynum. You might be right...by the end of the year, Bynum could be head and shoulders above both those guys...but as of now, he hasn't lived up to his potential. Gotta vote on the now, and the past...not the future. Until Bynum does something more, and isn't sitting on the bench the majority of the time in the playoffs, he isn't better than those two. By the end of the year, he very well may be...but right NOW, he isn't. He's just been an injury prone, unmotivated, 14/8 center that doesn't look any different than most of the guys on this list. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if at the end of the year he's top 4 or 5, or better...but right now, he isn't.

I c your point and you are right, but my issue is not solely with the ranking of Bynum it is the other rankings as well. To much emphasis on scoring and not enough on D. Also, last year Bynum did play well enough to merrit a higher ranking but someone (kobe) had to take him out at the knees. Thats like saying if D. Howard gets hurt and comes back at 50% just to help his team win a chip that he should be at the bottom of the rankings because he didnt play great at the end of the season. Bynum has shown brilliance, but he has gotten injured in mid season each of the past two years. This isnt a rankings about the most durable Center its the most gifted one and to say that some of these guys are more gifted centers than others who have not made the list yet is ludacris.

Good response tho and I totally see your point. If you didnt watch Bynum night in and night out for the past two years it is easy to underestimate him based on his play during nationally televised games (playoffs) while he was recovering from an injury.

One last thing, to say that he is injury proned and unmotivated seems completely bias and unfounded. The kid works his arse off every offseason and every season (fighting to come back from injury). The unmotivated dig is much more unfounded than the injury prone knock. I dont know if we can call him injury prone yet. Both injuries came from teammates and the one last year would have knocked even the most durable player out for the season.

Nene is very questionable on defense. Plus, his BBIQ is questionable at times, especially during the WCF.

This ranking poll has no credibility whatsoever... Bargnani, Biedrins, and Okafor are NOT the 5th, 6th, and 7th (respectively) best centers in the league. What a joke..

You will not find any reputable 'Top 10 Center' ranking with Bargnani, Biedrins, and Okafor that high on their list. Bargnani doesn't even belong in the conversation! The other two should be #9 Biedrins and #10 Okafor.

But, I guess they all had All-Star years and were challenging for the most improved player of the year awards...

:pity: In other words, those three are better than every other center not named D. Howard, Yao, A. Jefferson, and S. O'neal... Look out league, here they come!

p.s. I don't care much for Bynum either... I'd put him at #7 (maybe #6)

That is why I said "at times." He makes some very nice passes, but then turns around and makes some very dumb decisions both offensively and defensively.

IMO Nene should be getting more votes than he is currently getting. Okafor doesn't have the offensive game to be getting the 7th spot and he is a PF.

Wow, Bynum pretty much dropped to like 8-9 after he wasn't made the fifth best center. Maybe its Karma on Laker fans for getting him on 4th best center last year, lol??

My list would(no bias) look something like this:

1.KG
2.TD
3.Jefferson
4.Shaq
5.Bargnani -when starting
6.Chris Kaman-when healthy
7.Tyson Chandler-when healthy
