View Full Version : Best Non All Star Starters

There are probably more western conference players deserving to be All Stars that do not get the chance because of the stacked talent in their positions, in comparison to the eastern conference. Having said that, if you could have ANY player that has never been on an All Star team, what would your starting 5 look like? Do you think it would beat or at least compete with the NBA's top 3 teams (assuming if one of the players was on the NBA's top 3 teams they would be cloned)? Also, include your 6th man.

Here is mine:

PG: Derron Williams
SG: Jason Terry
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge
C : Al Jefferson

6th man: Jose Calderon (You never hear how amazing he is. If you hear anything positive it's probably just about his ridiculous free-throw shooting percentage. I guess I have a man crush on him because he is SUPER under-rated.)

I think they would beat the snot out of any NBA team, assuming they had at least a mediocre bench.

Deron Williams
Kevin Martin
Tayshaun Prince
Paul Millsap
Al Jefferson

Durant is a great player, but he is only a third year guy Prince does everything... I would go with Prince if this was my real lineup.

id put kevin martin on that list.

I can understand a Kevin Martin switch with Jason Terry, but Jason Terry is Mr. Iron Man, unfortunately Kevin Martin is not.

But I agree, a healthy Kevin Martin is better than a healthy Jason Terry.

u realize half of those players were injured which affected their all star chances

or im sure-- deron would have been one 100%.. Al doesnt get exposure but is still 100% deserving... Durant, most definately..

Kevin Martin isn't an "iron man" but he's not exactly injury prone either. The injuries he's suffered the past two seasons are the only setbacks he's had in his 5 year career.

C-Al Jefferson
PF-Paul Millsap
SF-Kevin Durant
SG-Kevin Martin

I don't know who I would rather have start at SG, Iggy or Kevin Martin????

Iggy has more boards and assists but Martin is better from 3, averages more points, and is better at the FT line.

I would have to say Martin though I think cause he missed like 30 games this past year so his numbers could've been higher if healthy.

to make such a thread we shoudl make a 25 years or older rule because of course there are tons of rookies or sophomores or third ywar ashtoundingp players tht still ae to new to the league but will end up winning a lot of allstars.

we shdl focus mor on guys like Battier and such

Milsap vs Aldridge

Winner = Aldridge, I'll take Milsap over Aldridge for a long-term plan but for today Aldridge gets my vote

Btw Josh Smith is better than the both of them so lets end that arguement

not a top name but if that is what you are looking for here really Udonis Haslem is a hustle guy that gives his all plays great defense and will dive for every ball and just works harder then anyone on the court for his minutes. He is someone that should be considered. He isnt the talent of an all star and never will be one but he is a player that personifies what you want as a role player
