View Full Version : Which seed will the Clippers end up?

Toenail Clipper

I am sure they are not ending up in the lottery this year.
They just added Telfair and Griffin, adding more depth.
And the East is favorable of dominating this year compared to the West.
My guess is
1. Lakers
2. Spurs
3. Trail Blazers
4. Nuggets
5. Clippers
6. Jazz
7. Hornets
8. Warriors

cant possibly have the impact rose did for the simple reason that rose has the ball every play and griffin will be like a 4th option...

The Clippers won't even make the playoffs.

yeah, 8th at best but I'd say they'll be in the lottery again this year.

You guys don't think Blake Griffin can turn things around like Derrick Rose?

Nahh man he will have a different effect of the team. Rose has the ball in his hands the whole game and hes in charger, Griffin will wait until he gets the ball. Different impact player.

The clippers and their seeding will all depend on Baron Davis. If he can stay motivated, they will seed between 8-10.

At 5, hell no. LOL. You need to be a realist rather than a dreamist. LOL.

Until ownership changes or Mike Dunleavy is fired (worst coach in the NBA, I felt that when he was with the Lakers) Clippers will be VIP's at the draft lottery. Clippers should hire Avery Johnson. He will light a fire under those players.

I think that you're comment was out of line. There are many Clipper fans on PSD and we are excited about next season as much as you are. And yes, the Clippers have had many losing seasons but we're loyal fans who stick by our team through everything. I just wanted to say that. I'm not calling you out or anything, I just think your comment wasn't necessary.

If everything goes well, the Clippers could end up with the 8th seed at best. This team still needs to come together but we have great pieces in Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin. The future looks bright but for right now I think that i would be satisfied with an 8 seed.

Clippers better than the Jazz and Hornets? Wow.... I think they could possibly grab the 7th or 8th spot....which is a big leap from the bottom of the barrel. I like the Clippers, and think they have made some decent moves, but don't see them being better than any of the top 6 in the West.

I don't know about that high of a seed. Do you really believe that the Mavericks will not be in the playoffs? I say switch 3 and 4 around, plug the Mavs at 5, Hornets at 6, Rockets/Clippers/Suns/Jazz for 7 and 8.

The Clippers, Warriors and Thunder should be considerable better with additions and good health.

I can see 2 of the 3 getting the 7th and 8th seed, things do change every yr.

I wouldnt be surprised at all to see the Clippers make the playoffs. For people to change their opinion of the Clippers it will take some visual proof. Good luck next yr Clipper fans.

How do you have the Clippers?
The Hornets have done nothing while everyone else has gotten better.
The Warriors don't have enough talent to win in the west.

How do you not have the Mavericks who were 7th seed last year and just adding Shawn marion.
You have the jazz who are replacing Milsap with Boozer way too high.
The nuggets are better than Portland until the Blazers prove otherwise (Blazers fans last year tried the same bull; insisting they would be better than Denver).
The Pheonix suns have a shot an 8th seed with Amare back for a full season. The Earl Clark add helps more than people think.

1.) Lakers
2.) Spurs
3.) Nuggets

7.) Rockets
8.) Clippers

EAST:
1.) Celtics
2.) Magic
3.) Cavaliers
4.) Raptors
5.) Hawks
6.) Wizards
7.) Bobcats
8.) Bulls

That's how I season this season going for the NBA. To me, these are the strongest teams in each conference. It'll be an interesting season and I want the Clippers to make the playoffs and it'll be a failure if they don't at least get the 8th seed.

DMOB23

You must really have high hopes for this franchise, they're not making the playoffs for another 2-4 years, Blake is good, but.. Baron is getting old, camby getting old, kaman is injured prone. So its gonna be Eric gordan an Blake, And thornton that will be 10th, maybe 9th if lucky, But I'll give you this, Blacke is gonna put up nearly 20 and 20 numbers.

8th seed its a lock

kombayn
07-20-2009, 11:44 PM
Actually, I think the Clippers have a great chance at being competitive. The veteran leadership is there and we have a good young core of players. They've addressed the problems of last season. We had no bench at all. Now we have a good-sized bench I believe. I don't think the 8th seed is out of the question.

Plus trading Q-Rich for a back-up PG in Sebastian Telfair, an under-rated back-up PF in Craig Smith and just a good-character locker-room guy in Mark Madsen with championship rings. I like the moves and it get rids of Allen Iverson.

Clippers '09-10 Roster:
PG - B. Davis/S. Telfair/M. Collins
SG - E. Gordon/R. Davis/M. Taylor
SF - A. Thornton/S. Novak
PF - B. Griffin/C. Smith/M. Madsen
C - C. Kaman/M. Camby/D. Jordan

I think we have an extremely solid roster and Dunleavy likes to run with a 14-man roster. I think this is how we'll look at the start of the season. I'm optimistic this season.

but....
Baron Davis will trip and break his ankle running across half court

I absolutely agree. I think the West might be shaken up a bit this year.

I think NO, Houston, Phoenix, OKC, LAC and GSW will be in a similar group.

New Orleans is trying to cut costs and Chandler is having a major surgery this off-season. They did not finish well last year either.

Who knows is McGrady if healthy in Houston, plus Artest is gone and Yao is injured. Their role players always find a way to fight though.

Amare has wanted out in Phoenix, and that could cause problems, or they could find chemistry with Nash and Amare again it could work out great.

OKC has a great young core that could erupt at any time IMO.

GSW has a healthy Ellis this year, a good player for their system in Curry, Randolph appears poised for a breakout year, Jackson, Maggette and Biedrins are good players as well.

And the Clippers have young talent and a veteran PG (Davis) who could put things together. We'll see, but I think their best players (Gordon, Griffin, and Thornton) may need another year together before they think about playoffs.

I think the West is less predictable this year.

Id be happy for any of those three to finally have some success (GSW have had some recently but it would be nice to see them make the playoffs consistently because they are a fun team to watch).

Until the Clippers can prove they aren't, well, the Clippers, they dont deserve attention for playoff consideration. Baron Davis. What is his deal? Is he gonna show up and play playoff Davis? Or just call it in per usual? The acquisitions of Telfair and Smith don't help that much. Griffin will have to go total beast for them to even have a chance. And even then, just don't see it.
