I am interested to know who everyone thinks has the best contract(s) in the league. There's nothing better than a great player that's locked in at a reasonable rate. Once i get enough suggestions, i could make this up as a poll.

We should probably try and refrain from rookie scale players, as any productive new league entrant is generally a great contract

Nash's contract has been a bargain for years -- $13,125,000 for next year. Think of the production and leadership for the money. He's never been more than the third highest paid player on his team.

This thread is traumatic. I'm remembering last year when I thought the Raptors might land Salmons and Miller for J.O.. Salmons would have been a beast for Toronto.

I would say a lot of the Spurs players, even Duncan
Duncan at 22 mil this season but for all he's done its well worth paying him, but he's also taking a 4 mil pay cut next year. so they could sign another big name for that big summer, but now that outta the question with RJ. But come on now he's allowing the team to build around him, taking less money.
Then Manu is only 10 mil, and for his style of play and his big contribution, its well worth it, and he took less money on this contract to stay with the Spurs.
Parker at 12 mil is a big break for the Spurs too, he's well worth a lot more.

Good call on Jefferson. Hopefully he heals well from injury. That's a very modest salary for a player of his caliber.

Duncan at 22 mil this season

Perhaps this is just me, but please tell me how making $22m a year is in anyones definition of a bargain?
That is superstar money - a category of its own, which has to be top 20 in the league, regardless of his production and leadership.

Furthermore, how is anyone making in excess of $15m in this discussion considered a bargain? Lets maybe keep this to people with good production under $10m...

I'd take Okafor for 10.5 mil without a doubt. I think he's capable of putting up 18 and 12 as well as being a force down low on the defensive end. He really needs to be paired up with a PF who has a good mid-range game.

I don't think the thread is asking who is on a max contract nor who is getting max money and is overpaid(ala Starburys knicks deal) My guess is which player is worth more than their contract would suggest. And obviously star rookies are bargain contracts for their franchises. With that bein said Leandro Barbosa is a steal 5yrs/25mil and hasn't even reached his peak. I would even argue he's better than devin harris and his 8mil/yr.

No big decisions, they just need to resign Roy, Aldridge and Oden to there extensions (they will all get nice raises, no secret there).

I highly doubt Batum and Bayless will be a problem and Rudy will be interesting because he has sacraficed money to play in the NBA but if he is all that in three yrs from now then dont expect the Blazers to have a problem resigning him for whatever it takes.

Besides in three yrs Ill be admiring the NBA championship in Portland and the players will be polishing their rings,
