In 2008 the Celtics won 66 games and went 7 games in round 1 with Atlanta, 7 games in round 2 with Cleveland, 6 games in the Conference finals with Detroit and 6 games in the NBA Finals with LA and won the title.

Now how would the Boston Celtics had done with T-mac that year instead of Pierce?

And T-mac wasn't hurt.

Tmac vs Pierce 2008 (http://www.basketball-reference.com/fc/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&p1=mcgratr01&y1=2008&p2=piercpa01&y2=2008)

Tmac averaged 27/8/7 on 43% in the playoffs while Pierce averaged 21/6/3 on 43% in the playoffs.

t-mac would have helped beat the lakers better than pierce he is just a better player when healthy.

Let me ask you one question. How many times has a T-Mac lead team made it out of the first round of the playoffs? Oh that is right NONE! T-Mac is so overrated, I would not trade "the Truth" for T-mac and a first round pick in the next 2 year, because T-Mac is a cancer. He is a taller Iverson everywhere he leaves the teams get better!

LOL, you must be kidding, TMac is a baby, no way they would've gotten out of the first round.

No way TMac mans up on Lebron and Kobe either shutting them down in big games. Pierce has intangibles that very few people on this site respect and appreciate.

Tmac is jus hated on this forum. This is why the thread was made.

Western Conference is a way deeper then the Eastern Conference and so i'd think Tmac would do well back there.

Tmac > Pierce

T-mac is a baby? compared to who Kobe maybe but definitly not compared to mister I hurt my knee and need to have practically everybody in the stadium carry me out to the locker room because I can't walk then miraculously come back with no limp or anything 5 minutes later. (I'm referring to Paul Pierce of course)

Probably not champs. McGrady doesn't play much defense and is too much of a ball hog to work well with this team. Pierce in 2008 developed into arguably the second best defensive SF in the game.

I wouldn't say Final's victory, but they could definitively get to the Final's. T-Mac never had players like KG and Allen to play with, yeah you can't have a guy like Artest with T-Mac cause both demand the ball and Artest gets 3 happy alot and Yao was always hurt during the playoffs. KG and Allen are hardly ever hurt and Allen can hit the clutch shots, KG will never let you give up mentally in a game. Plus since Allen went in that HUGE slump last year it would have been nice to have a guy who can get you 27 ppg to pick up the slack.

So Final's appearance? yes, Final's victory? maybe

With T-Mac in the line up, 1st round loss. But if T-Mac was hurt, at least a finals appearance. The Rockets with Pierce on the other hand, at least WCF.

Pierce>>>>>T-Mac

Only team he had that was to win was the 2007 Rockets that lost in 7. Now with Garnett and Allen guys who are healthy things could be a lot different for him.

The celtics would have done better with t-mac because he more atletic the pierce and hes a high flyer with a great jumpshot plus he would hav ray allen and kg who motavates the whole team and t-mac is younger then pierce is. This would only happen if t mac was healty

year ago, healthy McGrady > Pierce

so being on the same team as Priece was i would say that they could have dominated...
