He started off as a PF in the league.

Why would the Magic do that? Put Howard in at center, and have Gortat or Bass play PF.

rashard to sf his REAL position.

howard used to play center in hs.

he i not good enough in terms of jumpshot and Fundamentals to play well there in the nba.

SF. Thats where he'll prolly play this season too.
PG: Nelson
SG: Carter

if anything, they'd do the opposite, howard at C and gortat at PF

Can he play PF? sure, will he? not a chance, he started out as a PF and it wasn't going too well, his lack of jumpshot limits him. Therefore he gained 20+lbs of muscle and became a center and now he's arguably the best center on the planet, so why ruin that by moving him to PF

i wonder what will do magic once Fran Vazquez finally reports to team.

His skills are basically the same level than gortats and basses.....w?hat do they do with three identical players with identical ceillings for the same position.

wouldn't it better to start Mickael Pietrus at SF?

PG:Nelson
SG:Carter
SF:Pietrus
PF:Lewis
C:Howard

this line up spreads the floor making it easier for nelson and carter to drive the ball.

Itd be good in certain situations, but TO ME, starting Bass at PF and Lewis at SF would put them in the best situation to win it all.

it would probably make them a better team defensively, not offensively. The line up with pietrus starting is smiliar to last year's (which got them to finals.) I think lewis at the PF is what got them into the finals. Cavs had no answer for Lewis.

I agree with you, rashard is definately more of a small forward and bass offers more at pf the pietrias offers at sf. but anyway you look at it orlando got squad. As far as Howard playing pf, thats what he started out as, and really at 6'11 265 he has pf size and speed and if he played in the 90s, thats all he would be is a pf. But in today's league, all the positions from 1-3 have gotten bigger and more athletic, but there aren't many true 7foot centers in the league like it used to be, and the power forwards are definately more versitle than the used to be, people like malone, barkely, chris webber, gave birth to these hybrid type of pfs, with this combination of changes with the big men in the league, if forces howard to be a center because he doesn't have the all around game like the standard scoring pf, and with lack of true centers and most of them being either from overseas, which makes them more of shooter but less aggresive in the paint and less athletic, howard has the advantage at the 5. back in the days when teams tried to get the biggest guy they could to match up with shaq in his prime, howard wouldn't even be thought about as being a center, he would have to play pf.

leave him at C so he dunk all day and snag rebounds

Dwight Howard is the best center in the league, and probably will be for many more years to come. There's no point moving him down the PF, it just let's him not perform as well. But yeah, he did come in as a PF at first, but his structure and what he does on defense suits him perfectly as a center.

He's capable at playing PF, but he gets his best play as a normal Center.

He Can But Would Be Way Too Powerfull For The Position

I like this lineup for the Magic

Nelson
Carter
Lewis
Bass
Howard

I don't think they should start Pietrus at SF, they already have enough offense in there. Let Bass step in and give them the rebounding and toughness at PF that Lewis won't give you. Pietrus and Gortat gives them a stronger bench also.

lol yea maybe they will move a top5 player and franchise guy outta position to accomodate marcin gortat. he's a center because he wanted to be thats why he bulked up to 270.
a phoenix fan would create this nonsense

Yeah move him to the 4 so "the chosen one" Marcin Gortat can start...
