Hey guys, Some of you may remember but I conducted a poll at the start of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. I would like to start this up once more considering the NBA season is now over and we can get to this discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best.

PF Rankings DONT FORGET TO VOTE!!

1) Tim Duncan
2) Kevin Garnett
3) Dirk Nowitzki
4) Chris Bosh

Pau loses out due to being soft. While that is arguable, Pau has some of the best hands around the rim. He's one of the more skilled bigmen inside. Both crafty and agile.

Also Pau's D > Amare's

I love the way both amare and pau plays, but steve nash and kobe make their jobs alot easier. Bosh has carried that Raptors franchise after many people thought they were doomed because VC left. I would love to pick amare and pau over them, but it wouldnt be fair to.

yeah that's what happens when you are on a stacked team playing alongside the best player in the league... Gasol contributed to the championship but certainly is not the main reason so your reply is pointless.

you know you swap someone like Boozer or K-Mart with Pau and the Lakers are still every bit as good (although those two would make up for Bynum's defensive suckage)... some parts are interchangeable, some are not...

No they wouldn't. Boozer is comparable, but Gasol filled in at center a lot of the year and oozer can't do that. When Bynum was playing, Pau was the backup center. K Mart is a joke and the Lakers wouldn't have made the finals or wester finals if they replace Pau with K mart.

Dang I know I am a suns fan and all but Chris Bosh better then Pau and Amare get out of here. He is soft! Makes me think less and less of people actually watching more then their home team or fav team. Bosh is just weak. Also Dirk can score in bunches like Amar'e but Dirk has no post and doesn't get to the rim that often he just has a great shot and also no D like amar'e. I prob would have put Pau 3rd and Amar'e 4th or visa versa it doesn't matter there to me.

Numbers don't tell the whole story - that being said, I am a Raptor's fan who voted for Pau the past two rounds. There were many non-Raptor's fans who voted Bosh as well. No doubt that Raptor's bias contributed, but Bosh won quite substantially because non-Raptor's fans voted him too. No use generalizing though, the fact of the matter is that Bosh, Amare and Pau are all very good PFs that bring different aspects to their teams. On any given day, any of the three could be worthy of 4, 5, or 6th best PF.

Thats the point, the #'s dont tell the whole story only works when the other players have intangibles going in there favor. Pau is the better defender, leader, all-around player and is in his prime right now. The main thing Pau has going against him supposably is that hes soft, well compared to Amare and Bosh, Pau is Brock Lesnar.

Pau can actually play good defense as a Center, Bosh and Amare dont have that kind of versatility. So hes been the better player throughout the majority of his career, hes got the publicity and accolades, hes been on more winning teams to boot, so what exactly does Bosh have in his favor? All signs point one way.

Gasol-while I hate him simply because he's a Laker, he was terrific in the playoffs and was one of the biggest reasons the team won. He's proven he'll do whatever is needed in order for the team to win, including playing out of position and having to cover Dwight Howard.
Amare is an excellent player, but he really does not play much defense and tends to whine if things do not go his way, as indicated by this past season. I know part of the problem was also Porter's fault, but some of it was Amare's fault as well.

People are obsessed with freakish athleticism. Even if another player has a better offensive game, more touch around the basket, higher basketball I.Q., better passing ability, better 15 footer, and better defensive, they will take the flashyness over it.

id take boozer over amare or pau. amare is the better athlete but plays undisciplined defense... pau is soft and als pretty poor defensively. boozer might not be a great shooter but hes proven that he can score consistently inside, play great defense and pound the boards. he's a throwback - a true power forward unlike guys like dirk and pau who are really just extra tall 3's.

Boozer has always been beat up upon by the taller 4's in the leagues, including Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol and even Lamar Odom (see playoffs). He's not big enough to defend those guys. Pau is not an extra tall 3. 3's slash, handle like guards and hit three's. Pau plays out of the post, or on the elbow, never on the perimeter.

How exactly is Amare leading the vote when he relies on Steve Nash to get his points??? The guy can't play any Defense and he's leading the vote, he can score but he can't defend. I'll take better defense over better offense anyday. This shouldn't even be a competition when we're talking about Pau vs Amare, Pau has proven that he can carry a garbage team (Memphis) to the playoff while Amera hasn't done anything but rely on Steve Nash to feed him the ball. Bosh being 4th? really? lol....

Pau for sure,Amare hasn't the passing skills he has,and his basketball IQ is very low,all he can do is score.

Pau scores, rebounds ,makes assists, blocks many shots,Pau is far better than Amare.

Super.

Thats true about every championship team, but without Pau the Lakers are not in the finals. Ill take soft if it helps my team win a ring. You can take old and broken down.

We'll see how old and broken down the Celtics are. We'll see

Why isn't this close yet?

Amare is going to win. There is only so much Lakers fans online.

WTF, Pau Gasol is a fruitcake! OOOOOH, look at me yell and play passionately. The answers to this thread are Dirk Nowitzki, Blake Griffin, and Elton Brand.

I am surprised Amare is getting so many votes. Shows that a lot of fans still like the big dunks and nothing more. Pau is clearly a better all around player than Amare. Amare is allergic to defense, and is the product of a great point guard and system.
