Nike announced on Friday that Dwyane Wade will now represent the Jumpman label.

Wade had three years remaining on his deal with Converse, which had used him as their centerpiece in hopes of reinvigorating their business.

This is the most pathetic "big" news ever, this dude actually got my hopes up after he twittered yesterday. I was thinking a Odom or Boozer trade is in the works, but this is the "big" news he was referring to. Wade, I like you and all, but you're pathetic.

"I grew up on the south side of Chicago idolizing Michael Jordan and have worked hard to achieve the same success that he's had on the court," Wade said. - quoted from ESPN

Wade may be a great player but does he really think he achieved "the same success"?

Looks like Lebron, Melo, & Wade are setup pretty good now. At least he didn't drop the company and go to Adidas.

if converse is a subsidiary or owned by Nike , then is it really considered leaving since the profits ultimately end up in the same place ?!!?

Converse=same owners. It's like saying that, when a Charger would become a Ford Charger, Ford really screwed over Dodge- if you get my point.

Anyways, it's Jordan not Nike. It's another branch of Nike, just as Converse is.

I'm surprised he managed to wear them for this long, I had one pair and I thought they were the biggest piece of crap basketball shoe I've ever worn. Normally I'm a Nike guy but as of late the Adidas shoes I picked up are awesome.

Miami Heat star guard Dwyane Wade has decided to leave Converse to join Nike's Jumpman and Jordan Brand.

The implications of that decision, where millions of dollars in merchandising are at stake, carry all the way over to Marquette University, the school where Wade rose to stardom.

Wade told The Associated Press that, "I didn't want to be in the Converse brand anymore because they seemed like they didn't know what to do with me."

Both Converse and Jordan Brand are owned by Nike but operate independently.

Last basketball season, Marquette was the only major athletic program in the country that had a deal with Converse. The reason was simple: Wade's star power.

A Marquette spokesman said Friday the school was in the midst of a four-year deal with Converse. Under that contract, if Wade leaves Converse, Marquette can opt out of the contract.

Scott Kuykendall, the MU spokesman, said all MU teams wear Nike athletic gear. In a statement, he added:

"We have enjoyed the university's relationship with Dwyane Wade thanks to his partnership with Nike and look forward to that continuing in the future."

I dont know about you but Dammmnnnnn im excited to see his shoes with NIKE !!!! :D:D:D
