last 2 teams to win rings...who would win if they faced each other at FULL HEALTH...the lakers werent at full health in 08 with injuries to ariza and bynum and were a way weaker team mentally and pysically...they were a better team then they were in 08 but idk if good enough to beat the 08 celts in a 7 game series...obviously i think the majority of laker and celtic fans will go wit homer picks,so fans of other teams leave some comments too...btw first time makin a thread, dont bich me too bad....

Lakers. Bynum and Ariza would be a huge addition. Plus, the Celtics would have the 2008 Rondo, who wasn't as good as the 2009 Rondo.

In 6? Man please...If anything we'd get'em in 7.Pau played center and Lo started at PF which wasn't his postion, trevor just came back in the wcf from being injured for good while. Now that LO comes off the bench our size
and length would have made it harder for them on D.

Who has home court?

Honestly, as a Lakers fan, I think it'd go seven games and basically be a coin flip.

Celtics in 6.... I am a little biased, but i think that the 08 Celts would have beaten any 09 team in the Finals, not just the Lakers. For what it is worth, i do think that in 09 with all things considered the Lakers were tha best team.

Celtics in 6. Wayyyyyy too physical for the Lakers to handle. And that includes a healthy Bynum.

Healthy lakers team means Healthy Ariza. Pierce had a MAJOR mis-match b/c he was guarded mostly by Vlad & Walton, which gave the C's the advance. Ariza is a huge upgraded defensively over Vlad & walton. Put Ariza on pierce makes it a different series Lakers in 6 or 7.

Lakers in 6. Bynum/Ariza plus LO in a 6th man role would be the difference.

You're acting like the Lakers were so much more dominant this year than the year before. Add Garnett to the '09 Celtics and you have a Finals rematch, with the only major difference being no Posey for Boston and healthy Ariza for LA. That would have made it a more even series capable of being defined by a coinflip. Now you take the '08 Celtics with Posey and I think they definitely beat the Lakers in 6 again. Bynum is way too overrated and Gasol and Odom just don't cut it for me.

Kobe was spent after playing in the Finals 2 years straight and in the Olympics...so I'd honestly have to say that the C's would win in 7, but it would be a nail biter for both teams.

That said, give me a fresh Kobe AND both teams at full health and it's the Lakers. The Celts didn't have to contend with Ariza or Bynum, who at the very least are good for for a few more clutch shots, defense and fouls. Add to that Pau played like a beast in 2009 and Odom finally showed up on a consistent basis and that's one too many players for the Celts to deal with for a 7 game series.

By the way, who won the regular season match ups between the Lakers and the Celtics this past season???

For all of you saying Celtics in 6--you do realize it took the C's 6 games to beat LA in 2008 when Radmanovic was a starter, Luke Walton was their 6th man, and Chris Mihm was their backup center, right?

In 2009 Bynum/Gasol log all 48 min at Center and Gasol/Odom log all 48 at PF. Ariza was the starter and would match up with PP instead of Radmonovic.

Lakers 2009 team was a lot tougher than many give them credit for.

Ummm.....I think everyone realizes were a different team when healthy i mean look at this way with odom coming off the bench were favorites without odom were all of sudden not the best in the West so that tells you one thing!!! Had Bynum been healthy Odom would of came off the bench against the celtics and that would of been HUGE and also ariza more of a deffensive player would of been on Pierce who would of made it tougher on him!!!! Remember the bench we had against you guys is the so called "weak" bench we have now but if we had Odom on the bench for that series then we would of had a stronger Bench thats for sure!!!!

If Lakers could some how keep Odom I'll chose them, but as of right now I'll take Boston.
Lakers have an amazing starting 5, but their bench is thin.

Celtics in 7. They had 3 rabid vets that weren't going to be denied, and Bynum would have been pushed around. Rondo was not as good, so that is a tough call. And I wonder if Pierce would have dominated as much with Ariza on him. Tough call on this, but C's in 7

Three great players who had never won, vs a team coming off an embarrassing loss in the finals the previous year. Motivation is a scratch for me.

Rondo isn't as good, but they have James Posey.
The Lakers add Bynum and Ariza (whos outside shot was not as developed as it was this year). The Lakers bench players were arguably better in '08.

For the sake of not being a homer, I'll save it for NBA 2k10 to decide.

He's asking about the '09 Lakers that just won the title, with Odom and Ariza.

Well, considering the Lakers get Ariza to guard Pierce, and Bynum to cover Perkinds, it allows Gasol to guard KG. I'm not praising him as a defensive stopper but he did a pretty damn good against Howard in the finals, go look at Dwights stats during that series, they are way below anything he had done previous to that point.

The Celtics took the Lakers to 6 without what I mentioned above, Rondo improves for the Celtics, but you also lose Posey. It's fine to take the Celtics, but it doesn't make sense to say its going anything less than 7, since it already went six before. Bynum might not cut it for you, but hes still 7'0, 270 pounds, and a lot more massive than Gasol.
