With the additions of Ben Gordon and Villanova, will the Pistons be back amongst the top teams in the east? Will they fail to make the playoffs? Will they be in the middle of the pack?

They'll make the playoffs...but that's it. I like both players, but they aren't enough to make Detroit a contender with the likes of Boston, Cleveland and Orlando....

Probably another first round exit.

You clearly didn't understand the joke. I don't feel like explaining the joke, I want you to figure out. Take note of the fact that he said 'team' not 'player', and then look at the names of the two players the Pistons signed.

Unless they make a major move that team will blow hard. I broke it down in another thread...

Stuckey, Gordon, Prince, Villanueva, Brown?

PG- Shoot-first combo guard w/ no 3
SG- Undersized, shoot-first and second guard w/ good 3 but absolutely no defense
SF- Very good defender w/ little offense
PF- Oversized SF who apparently hates to rebound or play like a man who is 6'11"
C- Kwame? is he still in the league?

They won't make the playoffs with that roster.

^No man.

It says Villanova. The College. When he said that, he's saying that the Pistons got the whole Villanova team.

And No way.

Teams are actually getting impact players.

I think Gordon is going to end up like AI.

Yeah I agree, their will be no defense played in Detroit this year. The Cleveland Browns of the NBA. Go Browns:p

I don't think they even make the playoffs. They probably finish right outside the playoff seeds. 10 or 11th in the East imo

There is no more Easy East, I don't think they make the playoffs.

With the current roster prolly not. we will hopefully trade rip for a center. Tyson Chandler is the only possability to me that i like. We still need some bigs. Even with Chandler we would need more.
Kwame-dont hate the guy but def not a starter
Maxiell-we all know what he can do but not a true scorer
we need some help from our bigs so...no i dont see it being a good year for us.

I am not a detroit fan and to be honest im still in shock they beat the lakers in the finals lol but with that said I dont think that this line up can do a whole lot and to make things worse the best teams in the east got even stronger, not looking good for detroit any time soon.

Here is how a Pistons fan sees it (without homer goggles one).

As the team is right now, they are probably looking at the 8th seed at best. SERIOUS hole in the middle in regards to talent and depth. Kwame is a passable backup, but should not be a starter for even horrible teams. They will score in bunches, but will give up a lot too. Not sure what to think of the coach yet. They may be looking at the lottery.

If they can somehow manage to get Chandler for RIP or Prince, I up there chance to make the playoffs. Either way, they will be first round fodder for either the Celts, Magic or Cavs.

With that said, after the top 3 teams, the rest can finish anywhere from 4-10.

They'll make the playoffs, but not get out of the 1st round

I have to agree with mark1125 for the most part. I am also a detroit fan who tries not to let being a fan cover up reality. I would say definitely out in the first round, but I do they will make the playoffs at no higher than the 7th seed. The east is top heavy with a ton of mediocre teams. Sad to say that detroit is now one of those teams.
