Hey guys, Some of you may remember but I conducted a poll at the start of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. I would like to start this up once more considering the NBA season is now over and we can get to this discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best.

I also removed Josh Smith from the thread, going back over his games started, he should be under the PF list. Thats where he will go..

PG Rankings DONT FORGET TO VOTE!!

1) Lebron James
2) Carmelo Anthony
3) Kevin Durant
4) Paul Pierce
5) Danny Granger
6)
7)
8)
9)
10)

Last Years SF rankings:

1) Lebron James
2) Paul Pierce
3) Carmelo Anthony
4) Caron Butler
5) Ron Artest
6) Shawn Marion
7) Josh Smith
8) Richard Jefferson
9) Lamar Odom
10) Tayshaun Prince

Stephen Jackson, hes so underrated. Can score just as good as the guys that are left on that list, plays good defense, rebounds, will dish out the ball. Hes an all-around talent.

That's a silly reason to pick him. Playoffs are such a small sample. I'll take guys like Howard, Iguodala, Jefferson, Artest, Butler and Jackson before even considering Hedo. They've all been more productive in their careers and are just more talented IMO.

how is it a silly reason? its the time when your team needs you most and the time when the best players give it there all. how can you pick Jefferson, he went nowhere near the plaoffs last year. I am not sold on Iggy either. I would agree it debatable about artest and Butler but I know for a fact hedo deserves respect after what he did, he carried the magic.

It's a silly reason b/c it's small sample. There are a lot of guys on that list that have better numbers both last season and in their career compared to Hedo. I'll take that over a hot month any time.

how can you pick Jefferson, he went nowhere near the plaoffs last year. I am not sold on Iggy either
Jefferson has outplayed Turkoglu every season, as has Iguodala.

And if you're using Playoffs as your only argument here then why not Jefferson? He was in the Playoffs A LOT when he was with New Jersey.

I would agree it debatable about artest and Butler but I know for a fact hedo deserves respect after what he did, he carried the magic.
It's not really that debatable. Artest and Butler ARE better than Hedo, no question about it.

I'm not really trying to disrespect the guy, but b/c of what he did in the Playoffs he's being vastly overrated as a player. In reality there are quite a few SF's in the NBA that are better and have been better for a long time.

Raptors fans, if u could choose someone to join ur team would u HONESTLY pick Hedo instead of Andre?

Iguodala: 18.8, 5.7, 5.3, 1.6, 0.4 47%fg, 30% 3pt.

Turkoglu: 16.8, 5.3, 4.9, 0.8, 0.2, 41%fg, .35% 3pt.

the overall numbers are pretty much the same...

but iggy is a far better defender and thats the clincher for me.

Turk is a much better three point shooter but i honestly didnt know his overall FG% was so low.

I think Caron should be in the argument as well tbh, he is going under the radar!

iguodala's playoff numbers against Magic in 6 games.

21.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 6.7 apg, 1.8 spg, 0.0 bpg, .45 fg%, .39% 3pt.

where was the playoff performace? Turk played great when it counted and carried a chamionship team down the stretch, I did not see Iggy do that quite yet. Personally I think Turk, Iggy or Butler all deserving of this spot. There is no clear winner like the last poll for example.

2009 playoff performance:

turkoglu: 15.8 ppg, 42.7% FG, 38.6% 3P%, 4.5 rpg, 4.8 apg, .75 spg,

iguodala: 21.5 ppg, 44.9% FG, 39.3% 3P%, 6.3 rpg, 6.7 apg, 1.83 spg

turk did go further in the playoffs, but he also had a MUCH better supporting cast. it was appalling that iggy didn't make the allstar team this year over guys like mo williams and rashard lewis (yes, im a magic fan). i think he's pretty underrated.

Turkaglu or Iguadala.

I'm at odds because I like shooting and versitility but defense and slashing is the right way to go.

How are you going to put Al Thorton on the list but not John Salmons?

John Salmons actually plays defense, passes the ball, and on top of that averaged 18/3/3.

He is not top 6 or anything, just should be able to get voted over Al Thorton.

how come Gerald Wallace doesn't get any love?

After looking over his stats, I agree with you. among SF's, he was 4th in player efficiency at 20.5 per game. That ranks him above guys like butler, iguodala, carmelo and pierce. I would probably still rather have those 4 guys on my team, but he should get more recognition than he gets.

I also agree with the guy who said salmons should be on the list. his efficiency beat out turkoglu, jefferson, maggette, gay, artest, prince, josh howard, thaddeus young, and al thornton. I'm sure he plays better defense than a couple of those guys too.

defense is part of all around game btw....

dont get me wrong i love turks game and id take him on the sixers anyday.

but if u honestly asked me to build a team around a player id pick Iggy over Turk in a heartbeat.

but u can def make a case for turk no doubt so i respect that choice.

i just think if Iggy were playing next to D12 it would be a different story :).

I'm glad to see butler getting some looks too because he flew under the radar.

and yes it is kind of crazy not to have Luol and Salmons on his list.

Dont worry bulls fans Luol will get his chance at redemption next year.

Good point about the defense, but it's not like Iggs is way better on D than Turks. I like both Iggs and Turks and he might even be a better fit for D12, but Hedo is a much better playmaker IMO...I just like Turks a little better I guess.

i think Hedo and Iggy are both equally good playmakers. Iggy acts as the Point-Forward for this team as well and an extremely underrated passer. hence why he was 2nd in assists per game for SF. People think all he can do is dunk because thats the only exposure he gets but he is a great overall talent. Hedo has him in the clutch area but iggy is getting better.

check out the iggy mix in my sig if u dont believe me. ull see the clutch shots, passes, and of course the dunking.

thats where ur wrong bro. Iggy is a top 3 wing defender in the NBA. People don't realize it because he doesn't get any publicity, nor do the sixers cus we're a mediocre team; understandable.

if u have ESPN insider check out John Hollinger's 2009 choices for all defensive team.

Iggy was 2nd for SF behind Shane Battier and ahead of ron artest based on a whole accumulation of stats.

This is outta nowhere but i was talking to some of my friends (who went to high school with him) and for some reason we got to talking about Pierce and how he used to get punked for his shoes all the time in high school and how his mom would go to the Deans office and complain about him getting his **** taken... OMG what a ***** he is from the "hood" (he wasn't his family had money unlike everyone else") and has to have his mommy fight for him. LOL

lol um wtf does that have to do with anything???????

I went with Hedo at this point. After seeing what he did in the playoffs, I would take him over any guy on this list.

agreed.
Orlando will miss him next season.

Well to whoever said Hedo showed up some games and played terrible, he played alot more games than Iggy so I would expect him to have more off nights.

Artest is a one of the best defenders in the game, and arguably THE best at SF. You play both offense AND defense in basketball no?

Close thing.
I've always seen Andre Iguodala as a shooting guard.
I'd still probably pick Hedo or Caron over him though, but he's still a top player.

Have you ever watched Iggy play? The guy is up there with the best on-ball defenders in the game! He puts up those stats while guarding the best perim player every game and playing the most minutes.
