Same here. That's perfect. Then you have Terry and Gortat coming off the bench.

The Mavs still will only be a 50 win team, this doesn't change anything. They should just blow up the team.

such a pointless trade for the raptors...might as well let him walk.

Great player to add for just Stackhouse. Marion fits in well with what Dallas wanted to accomplish this offseason, and we still have the dampier contract to trade next offseason, which is going to make us able to pay more for the likes of lebron, wade, bosh, or johnson than other teams can.

Good news for the Mavs. I'm just happy he didn't end up in Cleveland.

Stackhouse is so stupid. He ruined his career. The Nets could have gotten him in that trade with Harris and he'd still be a respectable role player.

This trade helps the Raptors get rid of Banks and his horrible contract.

We are also most likely getting money for other players and draft picks which can be solid.

I would start:

PG Kidd
SG Howard
SF Marion
PF Dirk
C Dampier

Dampier will not start, the only way the mavs can void his contract at the end of the season is if he doesn't hit certain minutes played this year, that is why we went after a center

I like it for the mavs. But since marion isn't the player everyone thought he was this doesn't put them over the hump

Hopefully, the Mavs took Banks as well.

The raps get cap relief as stacks contract can be bought out

LMAO @ Marion and Banks still being a package deal. From Phoenix to Miami, from Miami to Toronto...now, OFF TO DALLAS THEY GO!

they still arent going to be contenders, even with marion.. they have no low post threat, and struggle defensively. kidd is too old and gets his steals off taking gambles, which he tends to lose, howard is offensive minded but shows potential defensively, marion is a defensive nightmare but doesnt bring much to the offensive side of the table anymore, dirk is a shooting guard in a power forwards body, and damps is just a scrub

they need to get either a 3 point threat (should have made this deal w/ toronto sooner and included kapono) or a big man that can score (glenn davis)

Marion isnt done. I never believed that. You dont go from having a typical great year in PHX to being traded to Miami and unachieving. He just needs a system that fits him better, and playing with Jason Kidd and Dirk and Josh Howard and Jason Terry and being the 3rd/4th option will only benefit him.

Plus regardless of his scoring he is still a premiere defender and rebounder, which any team could use.

Well the Mavs signed Ross as well. So they will be a lot better next year and deeper next year. Maybe they will trade Josh Howard for someone like Chris Kaman. If not then this is there lineup

Potential lineup

PG Kidd
SG Ross
SF Howard
PF Dirk
C Dampier

6th man - Marion and Terry, Gortat

Pretty solid team right there. They should be able to handle Denver now.

I hoped he was going to the Cavs, the league's top would've been even tighter

No, both Marion and Howard will definently start. Both are good defenders and quick and long and really Ross doesnt bring anything to the starting lineup that they wouldnt.

I think Ross will be the backup SF, Terry the backup SG, and hopefully we retain Bass to back up Dirk. Marion can always play PF in a quick lineup as well.

No way Howard or Marion comes off the bench.

Ya but Stackhouse talked to much and gave to much information to David Stern about his plans.

If Howard can effectively play the 2 , then this is a great acquisition for the Mavs.

Kidd
Howard
Marion
Dirk
Dampier

with Terry and Gortat off the bench

makes a contending team IMO.
