I doubt it's a better signing than getting Wallace for the MLE. Wallace could still dominate a game if he wanted to. McDyess is a fine role player and could start at the four while being backed up by Bonner and Blair.

Excellent. Sheed would have been better, but McDyess was the 2nd option I wanted.

He would start along side Duncan. Make it happen, and this is the best offseason Spurs have in a really long time.

Are the Spurs still resigning Drew Gooden and getting Oberto back after he was released?

Most likely no and no. Maybe oberto for the vet min but gooden is going to want more money than the spurs will want to offer. If they get Mcdyess their big men will consist of:

Duncan, Bonner, Mcdyess, Blair, Mahinmi, and Haislip

Not much more room to fill...again this is assuming the spurs do get mcdyess

Very good pickup for the Spurs. A guy who can score and play defense off the bench and even start at the 4 but I think his starting days are over at this point in his career. I

man, its just Dyess is so old. I wish they got Big Baby instead, o well, it would still be a good signing.

I like this move by the Spurs. I still think they should have gone after Marcin Gortat extremely hard with the MLE. I do think though that Antonio McDyess is only going to get the Bi-Annual Exception of $1.9 million from any team. So, in the end Glenn "Big Baby" Davis to the Spurs is still a possibility, though I see him going to Orlando.

That logic fails as Dice outplayed and out worked Sheed last year

That's the scary part. You guys have basically done jack **** the last 5 years, yet the Spurs are STILL one of the top 3 scariest teams.

Antonio was a BEAST in the second half of the season.
