Now we are really digging into the Minor Leagues. Rzep wasnt expected to be up here till September of 2010 at the earliest.

I also dont like the fact that he is facing the Rays

I'm thinking that by August the Jays will hold an open tryout and anybody who throws harder than 75 MPH will be the 5th starter.

I am excited to see what the kid can bring against a powerful and speedy Rays ball club.

He is still walking guys and is a bit inconsistent.

Holy crap...reading the fine print -> Marc is getting a shot because Mills may be hurt? Seriously, if I was a Blue Jay pitcher, I'd be looking into becoming an outfielder or something.

The open tryout is July 24th. I'm already going.

I'm much happier to see any name other than Mills here. Mills is not major league ready and if he is gonna be a legit prospect we cant keep letting him get spanked all over the park.

Rzepcinski has only made 2 starts in AAA since getting called up but he has been unreal after going 7-5 with a 2.93 ERA in 14 AA starts his AAA numbers are even better.
2-0, 2 starts, 0.79 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 16 K, 4 BB in 11.1 innings pitched
He is probably throwing too many pitches or something which is why he only went 5.2 twice.

I have a couple of questions though....
Where the **** is Purcey?
Did we cut Wade Miller or is he just hurt?

I dont like this call up... This is Zep's first season above A ball and he has only pitched in about 17 games this year. I would rather see Castro get a shot.

Are we going to russia to get pitchers now???

I am keen to see this guy pitch. I've been keeping tabs on him all year and have been nothing short of impressed. I doubt he's ready, so that worries me, but it doesn't hurt to give the guy a shot.

Oh **** he has some good numbers. I have a feeling he will last(unlike our top prospects in Mills/Cecil).

thats 3 horrid starts(15+ era) in 7 starts. Thats bad starts 42% of the time. He most likely will get better but hopefully he does it fast, or atleast work on it in AAA so he doesnt hurt this club any longer

it maybe too early to brin zep but i would rather see him than mills (unfortunate he got hurt). I would thought Castro would have been a good choice because he has been in the majors before.

Castros numbers have dropped off recently. You think he might have been a bit discouraged when pitchers who werent performing as well as him were getting call ups. There proffesionals and shouldnt but you never know

lol no ****, can you imagine that conversion when you get the call to the majors.

Coach " so pitch your are getting the call"
Pitcher" What call"
Coach " To the Majors"
Pitcher " No im not"
Coach " Yes, they just called"
Pitcher " But I'm only 21 coach"
Coach " So, thats OK"
Pitcher " **** that in not going"
Coach " Why"
Pitcher " I want to pitch a couple more years"
Coach " OK thats a good reason, go play Center Field"

is it unreasonable to have ATLEAST one pitcher back by the end of this season? (the originals form last year)

He was great last night against the Rays!! 1 ER, 2 Hits , 4 walks and 7 K's through 6 IP...looks like he thinks he's still in AAA.lol

Marcum is pitching again...holy crap! I just hope its not too soon!!!He would be HUGE for our rotation int he second half if he gets all the way back though..

miller's hurt

purcey just hasn't been consistent enough... one good start, one mediocre start, one good start, one bad start.... i also think that they want to leave him down there regardless of how he pitches.. to prove a point.. force him to 'get it'... i think we'll see him back in sept....
