Hey guys, Some of you may remember but I conducted a poll at the start of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. I would like to start this up once more considering the NBA season is now over and we can get to this discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best.

PG Rankings DONT FORGET TO VOTE!!

1) Lebron James

what are you talking about, its the off-season, nothing is going to change over the net 4 months maybe even longer..

I have done these polls after each season and everyone seems to enjoy it. No one is forcing you to vote or participate in the discussion.

With your reasoning this list will never be complete. Just leave your opinion or don't post. It's not complicated.

Paul Pierce. Terrific all-around player.

Many people are enamored by Durant's scoring, but don't realize he was the worst defender in the NBA this past season. There was a great article about it that actually used some in depth defensive analyst on how horrible a defensive influence Durant was on his team and how often he got torched. Although, Durant does have a terrific body with long arms and I would not be surprised if he improved drastically as a defender. At this point, I have to go with Pierce who is an all-around player.

Granger anyone?

Granger's numbers say he is better than Carmelo Anthony and Pierce, and Durant, and anyone else being discussed all the way around. 25.8 PPG in only 36 MPG, 5 RPG, 3 APG, 22.25 Efficiency Rating, .403 3P% , .878 FT%.

These polls are just popularity contests. Nobody can ever explain why they voted for someone with any fact to back it. Some player like Melo goes for 50 once or twice per season and he's the next big thing. Never mind the players who put up 20 to 25 every night with fewer touches, in fewer minutes.

What's the criteria people are voting on? Points? Rebounds? Assists? Obviously not, because if they were, they would know the following:

Look who is #14, behind both Durant and Granger ...

It's Pierce ladies and gentlemen. Durant will be better than him in a few but PDouble is still one of the best players in the game.

Let's do this right and do it on best player now. Pierce makes Boston go even if KG is injured.

Durant ain't there YET....

So do Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen, so that is giving credit where credit is undue.
Pierce is #30 among ONLY forwards in PPG, RPG and APG.
By the numbers, Pierce is about #5 on the list.

Durrant still has terrible defense, but he is a 26ppg scorer, so i'll give him 4th.

The most underrated SF right now is Stephen Jackson, and im not even a GSW fan.

He can drive, shoot the ball amazing well, 21ppg scorer, and has underrated Defense. I remember watching the lakers-warriors game, and seeing Jackson forcing Kobe to take tough shots. Jackson is very very underrated.

I guess alot of you haven't seen Granger play?

I'd have Granger in the 4-6th range personally. Very underrated.

I just don't see how Pierce is in peoples top 3 at this point in his career. The guy is so unimpressive to me it's ridiculous. Give me Durant without a doubt.

I like Prince but there is no way in hell he is better then Granger you have an argument for Pierce and Durant but Prince that is a joke imo.

YES, durant will get no.2.

PIERCE WAS OVERATED LAST YEAR WHEN HE BECAME NUMBER 2! JUST BECAUSE HE WON THE FINALS MVP DOESNT MEAN HE IS THE 2nd BEST SF. he cant even make the playoffs without 2 future HOF.

When did you start watching the NBA? 2006? 2007?

Do a little research before you post.

People on this site just hate Pierce. He said he thought he was the best in the NBA after he was Finals MVP and now hes hated. LOL.. Durant better than Pierce? You mean you switch Pierce and Durant and C's are better? LMAO Go away dumb fans

First of all there is such a thing as a good fit, so maybe Boston is better off with Pierce, maybe they aren't. So to make a statement like above is no argument at all to the point of the thread. The fact is that right NOW (Not 3 years ago) Durant is a better player in my opinion. Second of all just because fans disagree with you (especially when you are defending one of your own players which in itself reduces credibility) it doesn't mean they are "dumb fans".

Durant should be at the top of this, but I'm shocked at the lack of love for Danny Granger.

I voted Pierce for his Clutch shots and leadership. That makes him a better player but if you switched Pierce with Danny or Durant then Pierces team would not be better.

My list would have to be
Lebron
Carmello
Pierce
Danny
Kevin
Ron
Andre
Caron
Smith
Turk

I can't believe Pierce is getting so much more love than Granger. I thought last season reiterated the fact that with out KG (THE MAN IN BOSTON) the Celtics are a good team, not a championship caliber team. They could barley even beat the Bulls, who werent even locks to make the playoffs until deep into the season. Pierce had a great showing in the Finals 08' and played great D on Kobe, but he isn't as dominant offensively Durant and Granger. KG deserved Finals MVP, Pierce gets too much credit.

Paul Pierce has been my favorite non-Magic player for pretty much ever. With that said, Durant is clearly the better player right now. He has better shooting percentages, rebounds better, scores more, and is a superior defender. There's no way I'd take Pierce of Durant right now. No way.

By superior, you mean one of the worst defenders in the league, right?

Since when? Obviously Pierce's numbers have gone down since they got Ray and KG because he has to give up the ball more often.

Kevin Durant soon enough the guy will be a top 5 player in the league right up there with Kobe and Lebron.

Because he has to give the ball up more often? Pierce's 3.4 Apg last year was his lowest since 01-02.

Pierce didn't put up 40 once last year. Durant and Granger did it three times a piece.

Why should we assume he would be putting up as much as Granger and Durant if he wasn't on a loaded squad? He put up 21.6. ppg in 04-05 without Allen, KG, and Rondo. He's 11 years older than KD.

Paul Pierce.

I think that him & Durant are both actually better than Melo -- right now.
