On the Nationals broadcast they said Zimmerman was named. So I assume he is the only Nationals representative.

And apparently Guzman will be on the final ballot thing.

I'm so pissed that Lind is on the final ballot with Kinsler. Now he has no chance when he should have been on the team over Pedroia.

WOW! No Pablo Sandoval?

i agree with you Ian Kinsler should have started over Dustin and Adam Lind should of of been at least as a reserve

I agree Lumberjack, I'm surprised Pablo Sandoval didn't make it myself.

^^ i was just as pissed....not being a homer but the nl only has 2....2 3b. WRight and zimmerman...but 4 1b. Great strategy Manuel. NO wonder the NL can never win the all star game.

Dammit now Hill wont be in the game. That would be pretty bull if Hill isnt there. He leads all 3 of them in average, homers, and rbis I'm pretty sure...thats what everyone looks at.

By numbers Lind and Rolen should both be there too. If Halladay is the only Jays all star I would be pretty pissed.

WOW! No Pablo Sandoval?

Hopefully he'll make it in on the final ballot.

It's ridiculous that Hamilton is starting. He shouldn't even be on the All Star team.

I'm a little shocked Wakefield made it, but I'm really happy - First time he's ever made it. Also, can not believe Pedroia made it over Kinsler. Not fair.

Yeah, he's another guy that deserves it. 4 All Star 1b's, and two 3B's. Could have made it three each..

-Lavigne43-
07-05-2009, 02:08 PM
All the people voting for Youkilis voted for Pedroia as well, that's why he won. And Hill should be starting

Sandoval will probably be on the final ballot, and should be voted in on there.

All four NL first baseman deserved to make it. I just can't believe Manuel took both Tejada and Pence from the Astros over Sandoval. He was more deserving than both of them.

IMO it goes like this for the pitchers

NL Starters
1.Tim Lincecum (selected)
2.Dan Haren (selected)
3.Josh Johnson (selected)
4.Yovani Gallardo (Major snub IMO Ted Lilly doesn't deserve his spot)
5.Matt Cain (selected)
6.Chad Billingsley (selected)
7.Javier Vazquez (Snubed Johan Santana's legacy strikes again)

NL Closers
1.Heath Bell (selected)
2.Francisco J. Rodriguez (selected)
3.Jonathan Broxton (selected)
4.Ryan Franklin (selected)
5.Brian Wilson Snubed but Francisco Cordero a good selection too)
6.Huston Street (Snubed by Jason Marquis's mediocore at best season)

AL Starers
1.Zack Greinke (selected)
2.Roy Halladay (selected)
3.Felix Hernandez (selected)
4.Justin Verlander (selected)
5.Edwin Jackson (selected)
6.Jered Weaver (Victim of Wakefeild missing allstar game for so long)
7.Josh Beckett (selected)

AL Closers
1.Joe Nathan (selected)
2.Mariano Rivera (selected)
3.Brian Fuentes (selected)
4.Jonathan Papelbon (selected)
5.David Aardsma (Andrew Bailey? Even Joe Madden said they had to pick someone from Oakland)
6.Bobby Jenks (Mark Buehrle probably the correct choice)

Ian Kinsler and Mark Reynolds deserve the last spots

-Lavigne43-

Can't believe Vazquez did not get picked. Biggest snub

ya i agree all those first baseman deserved it, i was really suprised that kinsler didnt get in. zimmerman is not having a better year than sandoval but he is having a good one and the nationals have to have one guy. i get it. hopefully he will get in on the final ballot. No Vazquez or Chipper hurts because Chipper has been better than Zimmerman, and Vazquez I'm just speechless about, but Pablo ****ing Sandoval doesn't make it? ********.
I'm voting for him in the final ballot multiple times. He's been better than Chipper, Zimmerman, and Wright.

I don't believe Howard should have made it... They should have taken 3 3rd baseman and given it to Pablo. I love Howard to death thank god that he is on my phillies but home runs and rbi carry way to much weight. 250 Avg and 94 strikeouts and an OBP of under 330 is not all star worthy. Wish worth would have made it though lol.

Hamilton shouldn't be on the team PERIOD.

I think Crawford should have been starting, though.

Brian Fuentes over Jered Weaver!!!! You got to be shittin' me.

Carpenter and Gallardo over Santana and Lilly.

Ted Lilly has to make it cause the Cubs have no other player even close to being an allstar

Mark Reynolds should be on the team over Pablo Sandoval

Mark Reynolds
.269 23hr 58rbi 52 runs 13sb .355obp

Pablo Sandoval
.333 12hr 44rbi 37 runs 3sb .388obp

idk its close but i give a slight edge to reynolds

Victorino deserves the last spot for his defense alone.

Matt Kemp is a better defender this year in CF.

Will Beltran and Ibanez be healthy enough to start? I haven't been following them lately.

If you watch them play on a consistent basis then the clear choice is Sandoval. Reynolds will lead the league in K's and is the worst defensive 3b in basesball. Sandoval is carrying that team.

3 NL reserve firstbasemen?

Wow, great strategy.

Mark Reynolds was the biggest snub IMO. Shin Soo Choo, Pablo Sandoval, Nelson Cruz, Chone Figgins are worthy as well, but maybe not over a few guys selected.

Javier Vazquez is the biggest snub. Javier>Johan. :pity:

i agree with kemp being better this year in cf. he has been a beast out there. when he has played against the giants(is when i get to watch him) he has ran down so many gap shot maybe has won a couple games against us by him self just from preventing runs.

I actually have less gripes with the NL team this year than I normally do. sandoval is really the only stand out snub in my mind, Howard's spot should have gone to him. You could also make the argument for Vazquez/Gallardo over two of Johan/Lilly/Marquis.

JohanTheGreat
07-06-2009, 01:13 AM
Sandoval deserves it over Hudson.

I'm glad A-Roid isn't in it. I'm sick of hearing about him.
