Was watching Sportscenter and it was reported that Hedo is still in Portland and they are working out a deal. It's also on the bottom line on ESPN.

Rudy should be their sixth man. Think its possible, if this deal gets done, they will trade Travis Outlaw?

Top 3 in the west, in my opinion:

1 Lakers
2 Spurs
3 Blazers

Blake-Roy-Turkoglu-Aldridge-Pryzbilla/Oden.....that's a good lineup

I feel bad for Bayless. Toronto could use him.

The Blazers FO spoke with him before they went after Turk and Rudy encouraged them to go out and make the team better. All of this "Rudy is unhappy because of Turk coming to Portland" is nonsense, initiated and spread by his Spanish agent.

I dont see this as a good fit for portland..In my mind a stupid move..They should have hone after a pg..Now your asking to guys that do the same to fight for the rock..I smell trouble with roy and turk..I hope for the better sake of portland they dont do it...They need a defensive stopper at the 3 not turk..They already have roy..And turk would not come off the bench.

Bayless, with a strong camp, should emerge as the backup this year.

ESPN just confirmed they have agreed in principle to a deal. Verbal commitment should be announced soon.

Everyone is overlooking what portland needs most. Steve Blake is a mediocre point guard, if they get Hedo, I say trade Outlaw and Rudy for Steve Nash, I hear he is unhappy in Phoenix so they are trying to get rid of him also
PG-Nash
SG-Roy
SF-Turkoglu
PF-Alridge
C-Oden
Now thats more like it

Ryan328

That'd be a sick lineup, but if Nash were to be traded, I think Phoenix would maybe send him East. Then again, you never know.

Hedo Turkoglu has reached an agreement in principle to become a Portland Trail Blazer, according to sources.

Although a verbal commitment may be announced sooner, the terms of the contract cannot be finalized until Wednesday, after the NBA informs teams what next year's salary cap will be.

The Orlando Magic's recent trade for Vince Carter, who has a large salary and plays small forward -- which is Turkoglu's position -- made it highly unlikely Turkoglu would be back in Orlando.

The Toronto Raptors expressed interest, but that was constrained by their other efforts to keep Shawn Marion and Carlos Delfino.

Turkoglu, a 6-10 forward from Turkey who played a prominent role in the Magic's recent trip to the NBA Finals, had been looking for a five-year deal in the neighborhood of $50 million.

Not sure Hedo was what they needed. They needed someone like Artest or Ariza.

Are you forgetting about what should be a healthy Utah team? And the Nuggets who went to the WCF's? And the fact that Pryz is serviceable, but really a back up, and Oden hasn't done anything but get injured?

I have a healthy Utah at fifth. I know I'll get some hate for that.

As of now:

1- Lakers
2- Spurs
3- Blazers
4- Nuggets-
5- Jazz
6- Hornets
7- Mavericks
8- Suns

Does this mean they won't go after a PG. Blake is adequate, and Bayless is star waiting for a chance. Hedo is also basically a Point-Guard. This team is probably a backup PF away from a title.

I feel bad for Bayless. Toronto could use him.

So could the Kings...

Turkoglu, Outlaw, Fernandez, Batum...somebody's on their way out of town. Probably Outlaw.

Anyway, a good pick-up for the Blazers. How they'll stack up with the Lakers, Spurs, and Nuggets this season will hinge on the development of Oden and Aldridge. Aldridge still hasn't hit his ceiling yet and Oden isn't even close.

Nice and close to what I'd predict but, I don't see how Batum, Outlaw, Rudy and Turk will split minutes so I think one or two of their SFs (not hedo) will be traded for a true point guard, so they'd oust WCFinalists Nuggets and a healthy Jazz team for #3, with that being said:

1-Lakers
2-Spurs
3-Blazers
4-Nuggets
5-Jazz
6-Hornets
7-Mavericks
8-Memphis - (I'd take young Memphis over a soon-to-be Stoudamire-less and [possibly] Nash-less Suns)

Yeah I think Outlaw will be the odd man out. As far as Memphis, I thought about it, but they are still a bit too young for my liking. I think the Clippers and possibly the Warriors will be better than Memphis.
