Regardless of age, he is Jason Kidd and will play well at 39. With that IQ he can always play. But yes, he should be going to a contender, so I don't see him going to the Knicks or Mavs.

Why would Jason Kidd go to the Knicks?? I know the Mavs arent going to win the Championship anytime soon but atleast they make the playoffs. The Knicks are lottery bound next season. I just cant see Kidd going to NY. Unless he just misses the Atlantic division, but we all know they aint winning that

b/c jason kidd said he loved playing 4 mike d'antoni during the olympics. Also b/c his kids live in NY and he knows the knicks are gonna do big things in 2010 unlike the mavs

Richard Jefferson let it slip out 2 days ago on a tonight show that jason kidd was going to go the knicks because he loved playing for mike d'antoni in the olympics and because he has his child in newyork

He would rather go to a contender but the problem is no contenders want him.Right now the only two teams that are interested in the legendary BAY AREA baller is the KNICKS & the MAVS.Between these two team I say the KNICKS are a much better fit.He is the perfect pg for that system & with KIDD on the team they're a playoff team although they wont win a championship.

Kidd in Knicks would be pretty useless, for both parties.

I believe Kidd will be a New York Knick, and I'm not saying this just because I'm a Knicks fan. Kidd still has his family back in Rutherford, New Jersey. Coming back to an Atlantic Division Team would shorten his commute and let him see his kids more often. Kidd flew out to New York just to talk with the Knicks, he seems genuinely interested; also he expressed his love for playing at Madison Square Garden on more than one occasion, so by the Knicks putting forth a 3 year deal confirms their interest in Kidd is legit. If they're willing to semi-risk their 2010 plans by getting him a 3 year deal I think Kidd will take it, even if it is less money. He's already financially set for life, and three million per year less than what the Mavs will pay I think he'll be willing to accept.

Also when the Nets acquired him (way back when), their squad had no exceptional talent when they made that Championship run. It was:
Kidd
Kittles
Richard Jefferson (his rookie/soph year)
Kenyon Martin
Jason Collins

I don't think playing on a team where:
Kidd
Chandler
Gallinari
Lee(?)
Hill
is the starting lineup of the future could be worse than his Nets teams. I think he'll definitely consider it and hopefully we'll see him in a Knicks uni. Kidd is a rare breed of PG. I think he has enough in those knees to play until 39 and call it quits. Plus he might have a Pedro Martinez kind of effect on the Knicks; serve as an advertisement to attract more superstars in '10.

Kidd would be good for the Knicks, make them relevant for a little while. But I must be a little tipsy, $10m per? I don't think he is worth that much anymore.

Kidd would make all of the players on the Knicks just that much better. Hill could have a breakout rookie season with a PG like Kidd calling the shots.

I would love to see him in NYC.

Its all coming true...the 2010 free agency "splash" the Knicks are supposed to be making...I cant wait...

PG - 38 year old Jason Kidd
SG - Joe Johnson??? (possibly our big aquisition who we will pay Allan Houston money for)
SF - Wilson Chandler (a nice player)
PF - Jordan Hill (who?)
C - Eddy Curry (ewww)

Bench:
PG - Tony Douglas
SG - Me
SF - Danillo Gallinari (if he isn't forced into Yao Ming retirement cuz of his back)
PF - Jared Jeffries
C - You

It's hard being a Knicks fan............

if i were kidd, i would play this smart. Request a sign and trade with the knicks. Basically he gets the amount of money that the mavs could give, but gets to play on the knicks and complete his remaining years where he lives. That also show if the knicks are really that interested in him or if it's just a bunch of smoke.

Next season Stackhouse, Dampier, George, Wright, Howard, and Williams' contract all expire, plus Kidd taking about a 12 million dollar pay cut if he signs puts the mavs around 50 million dollars which is about 20 million dollars to spend right? And Dirk has said in order to get a superstar in Dallas next offseason he would opt out and take a really big pay cut. So how are the Mavs not going to be involved next offseason? Especially when we have Mark Cuban as our owner. Kidd will be a Maverick. Cuban will offer him even more than the 9 million a season before he lets him walk to New York.

so if kidd goes to the knicks is that the end of nate robinson?

no cause nate's a SG not a PG like kidd. and I didnt mean that the mavs arent gonna do anything next offseason. I meant that the knicks are gonna be the most active team next offseason since we've been ready for 2010 since last october
