According to Twitter posts from Adrian Wojnarowski, the Rockets met with Trevor Ariza in Las Vegas on Thursday and are expected to offer a multi-year deal at the mid-level exception.

The deal would not preclude Houston from also keeping Ron Artest, according to sources.- Via Yahoo!

would be a great move for the Rockets. Ariza is young, the Rockets know they aren't contending this year, but can rebuild on the fly quickly with McGrady's deal coming off, and Ariza showed his value on both sides of the floor.

Decent signing. Im guessing he will be off the bench behind Battier?

I would think Ariza starts easily

He will probably start at SG.

Why? Battier is a better defender, and they pretty much only shoot 3's, with the exception of Ariza putting it on the floor every once in a while.

If Ariza signs with another team for the MLE, then he and his agent can go suck a big fat one.

That's basically the same amount of money the Lakers were offering.

Would Ariza really pick the Rockets over Cleveland though? Houston is on the way down with Yao out.

Probably because that is the maximum Houston can offer. Maybe he feels more wanted by Houston, Cleveland, etc?

Damn I didn't think Ariza was gonna take a paycut to stay in LA, but to leave for another team that's giving him the same offer as we did? I didn't expect that.

Ariza would probably end up in Toronto.

This is BS. Ariza is a glorified role player who will regret the day he left the Lakers. This looks desperate and as a rocket fan, I am very disgusted. Might as well not sign anybody, rebuild and get ready for 2010 instead dumb moves like this. Ariza would be better served going to the Cavs. He wont have to be the man.

This is just pure BS by Morey!

Even though I would love to see it happen, it isn't likely.
