A source told Ken Berger that he believes David Lee's days as a Knick are over. Agent Mark Bartelstein will reportedly have Lee sign an offer sheet with the Grizzlies or Thunder that the Knicks will not be willing to match.

"It's a tough loss for New York, but they don't want to screw up their 2010 plan," the source said.

I don't think anyone will pay over 10 mill. They should match it if the contract is or less than 10 million/year.

The Grizzlies and the Thunder can afford it, but both would be stupid to pay it.

If he signs with the Thunder, they will have even more young talent to go with all the solid players they have already accumulated. Should be interesting to see where he winds up.

He's a stat stuffer, and those types of players get paid. In a normal economic environment, $10M/yr. Right now? $7-8M/yr.

If someone gives him a 5 year, fifty million dollar deal... i promise 2, 3 at the latest, years down the road that team will be begging to get him off of the books.

He is a solid player, but not worth that type of money. I'd let him walk if I was New York... and if the Grizz or OKC is dumb enough to sign him to that type of money have at it... but neither Memphis or OKC is a David Lee away from the playoffs.

Lee is a solid player and would love to have him on my team, but anything over 7-9 million is way to much.

I would have a hard time offering any guy that kind of money who's putting up numbers under Mike D'antonis system. His numbers could be very deceiving simply because he's in a system that allows an average player to be more then that.

To be fair, he was putting up numbers and developing toward his current production before D'Antoni came to town. I'd be more concerned about the lack of production around him.

Agreed, I hope the Knicks are not that team. In the past we have been, but Donnie is smarter then the average GM... He will let David walk and we will be a better team in the long run.

Still sad to see him go, he does have heart, I will give him that.
