From NBA.com (http://www.nba.com/jazz/news/09_boozer_opts.html)

Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer announced today that he is exercising his player option for 2009-10 and will be returning for his sixth season with the organization.

“We are excited that Carlos has decided to remain with the Jazz,” said Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor. “We are hopeful he can continue to play at an All-Star level and will have an injury-free season.”

Boozer (6-9, 266, Duke), appeared in 37 games (all starts) for the Jazz in 2008-09, averaging 16.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 32 minutes per game. The seven-year NBA veteran had 20 double-doubles and 15 games of 20 or more points, leading the Jazz to the team’s third straight playoff appearance.

I wonder what this means for David Lee. 1 less FA probably raises the market value of everyone else. Sucks!

Hes just holding out cause more teams can offer him max dollars. Now the Jazz cant match offers on Millsap. So Jazz fans, you will now lose Millsap and Boozer after next season.

i think and hope we will try and trade him now. Our owner and Sloan have acted like they want Millsap to be our starter next year unless the Thunder sign him to a 13 million a year contract then i dont know what they will do.

The Jazz have publicly and repeatedly stated that they will match any offer and have no problem going into the luxury tax for Millsapp. They will resign Paul Millsapp and try to deal Boozer's expiring sometime this year, and if not, they'll let Boozer walk next year while retaining Millsapp. It looks more and more like Okur is going to be the one to leave.

its good to see him stay and play with D-Will. Shows he has a heart after what he did to the CavsAll it shows is he wasn't going to get paid. Pistons were the only veteran team with cash and they weren't going to give him a better salary than he has now

that isnt why he did it. He knew he wouldnt get what he was asking for this year and thinks he has a better chance of getting it next year

thats EXACTLY what the Jazz need!

Rip Hamilton is exactly what the Jazz don't need. Brewer, Korver, CJ and AK filling in sg/sf. Jazz need defensive center and another outside threat, which Hamilton is only a 20 ft. threat
