Well did you guys really expect him to come in and hit .300 with 20 homeruns? They said it's going to take time for his swing to get back. You can't be so hard on him, yes he could hit in his past but it's going to take probably 1000+ at-bats to see that.

He's is doing pretty good in his last 10 games though hitting .323 with his first homerun.

I wasnt expecting too much from him anyways. Rick Ankeil is a true rarity and is extrememly hard to replicate

Adam Loewen is in his pro season as a hitter. Chance are that he doesn't really come out to anything, but it will take 2 full years or 1000AB before any conclusions or progress reports are valid

you take a career pitcher, take away his ability to pitch, give him a bat, tell him to suddenly become a hitter.. wellll duuuuuhhhhh..

close this thread.. it's clear that everyone, except the TS, knew it would take at least 1000 AB's before any real progress was made or before JP would start seriously looking at him as a positional player prospect...

scuffling..?? sheesh... i think he's doing juuuussst fine.. look at that sweet OBP... 100 points higher than his avg... oh and he's also hitting .323 in his last 10 games, with 9 BB and 6 K's!!! in tribute to the late great michael jackson, TS beat it, beat it

Dontrell could actually hit pretty good though, I think if he can't turn it around he should def. try it out he has had two back to back season with multiple homeruns and double digit RBI's.

don't type that everyday, and i didn't really care to check, and yes you are correct it is Mine and Millions of others opinion, I think you are the minority on that one. Plus the 23mil it took to settle out of court. Did you here......... MJ didn't die of a heart attack, it was food poison, from eatings 5 year old weiners. lol JK. Back to the topic, Adams chances are low but why not give him a chance, and way to early to tell. IMO

PS. don't tell anyone but i did like his music!!!!lol.

apparantly they don't mind child molesters then. I'd gladly be in the minority that think they are scumbags.

Close this thread....why??

Do you really think the Jays think it will take 1000 ABs to see if he can hit....NO.
More realistically 600 ABS should tell the story.

But by the Jays saying it that sure takes the pressure off him!!!

Makes sense to me.

JP, himself, has said that any player picking up a bat for the first time at the pro level needs at least 1000 AB's before they can evaluate and project his potential down the road...

i love how no one has any proof that these things happened, yet everyone just wants to hop aboard the bandwagon... was the guy weird? by some societal standard? yes... but that's blown out or proportion

no it doesnt only take 600AB....it will take 1000AB to see if there is any hope and then probably and 500AB to see if he can make it. He is just like any other rookie who is starting at A ball. No other rookie would be considered good or bad after 600AB so whats the difference with Loewen??
