Hey guys, Some of you may remember but I conducted a poll at the start of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. I would like to start this up once more considering the NBA season is now over and we can get to this discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best.

PG Rankings DONT FORGET TO VOTE!!

1) Kobe Bryant
2) Dwayne Wade
3) Brandon Roy
4) Joe Johnson
5) Vince Carter
6) Manu Ginobili
7)
8)
9)
10)

Last Years SG rankings:

1) Kobe Bryant
2) Dwayne Wade
3) Tracy McGrady
4) Allen Iverson
5) Manu Ginobili
5) Vince Carter
7) Joe Johnson
8) Ray Allen
9) Brandon Roy
10) Kevin Martin

It has to be between Ben Gordon, Ray Allen, and Kevin Martin IMO. I think Ben Gordon gets the nod because he is very consistent for the most part and IMO outperformed Ray Allen in the playoffs and even in the regular season.

Plenty of difficult choices in there for me. I went with Michael Redd, but it could have very easily been almost anyone else on the list :).

I voted Gordon, but then looked at the stats, and I wish I could change my vote to Allen. While I think he is more one dimensional on offense, he is a more efficient scorer, was better head-to-head in the playoffs, and is the better defender. I think Gordon can pass him next year, but it's still Ray Ray.

It's very close between Gordon and R. Allen.... But I gotta pick R. Allen because he's a better defensive player then Gordon.

Ray Allen.

Michael Redd, he was good till he got hurt

what was it anyway?

Given some of the other names on there, J.R. Smith should be in the poll.

A healthy T Mac is better than anyone on that board. Just don't know how he'll be when he gets back from injury but I have to base it on what he has done so far in his career.

I'd have to go with Kevin Martin. He's an efficient scorer, that has a complete offensive game. Ray Allen, Ben Gordon are close seconds.

TMAC still on the list???????????????? LL this poll is a JOKE..... bunch of homers. Everyone knows that when he is healthy he is a monster.

If anyone voted ben gordon.....they have likely ONLY watched this past post season. Ignorant basketball fans. Ray Allen is legit though, so I like his vote, but McGrady should have been off this list a coupl of picks ago....

Everyone knows that when he is healthy he is a monster.

And when was the last time he was truly healthy? How long do you expect NBA fans to give him the benefit of the doubt and sit around waiting at the table for him with his seat reserved to come back to his former level of play without having to prove he's still got it?

Kevin Martin
25.8 3.8 2.8
Ben Gordon
22.7 3.8 3.7
O.J. Mayo
19.4 3.9 3.4
Ray Allen
19.9 3.9 3.0
Tracy McGrady
18.5 5.2 5.9
Jason Richardson
20.1 5.3 2.4
Michael Redd
23.2 3.6 2.9
Richard Hamilton
21.5 3.6 5.2
Monta Ellis
21.3 4.8 4.2
Allen Iverson
19.0 3.3 5.4
Jason Terry
23.2 2.8 4.0
Jamal Crawford
20.7 3.1 4.6

Tracy McGrady's, Michael Redd's, Monta Ellis's, Allen Iverson's and few others stats are really effected of their injuries. However we still can judge them by their stats (40min):

1. Kevin Martin
25.8 3.8 2.8

2. Ben Gordon
22.7 3.8 3.7

Also there are other things that really affect how good player is, it's team record, leadership and more...

how about you go look at him not lats year, buit the year before....then when u are done with that go look at his numbers in the playoffs...they are RIDICULOUSLY GOOD...he played another playoff series by himself because Yao was out again...he played with a bunch of scrubs: Brooks and rafer, before they both stepped up, Louis Scola- before his emergence...that was his 1st year in this NBA league, battier, Mutumbo, Chuck Hayes etc...t hat was his team.../go figue that one out

greg_ory_2005

I vote for Martin. He's one of the best scorers in the league. He's just on a crap team, so people don't really notice him that much. Allen is a close 2nd though.

Everyone hates on Michael Redd because they hate the Bucks. If it came down to a shootout Redd would be top 10 easily.

T-Mac is an injury prone, who might have lost his shape (even in some commercial half year ago, he looked kinda fat)...

He was a superstar, his number were great, playoff's number were even better, but those didn't help him to get through round 1...

What matters that those were, were in the past...

WHo cares if he is on a crap team...Kobe was on a crap team and got noticed...so was LeBron....oh, and so was TMAC when he was with orlando...but each of these players single handedly took thier teams to the playoffs. Kevin martin is a great scorer but he makes NOBODY else better obviously

The thread is about who is better currently, not who was better two years ago. That's why it is VERY difficult to assess players like McGrady with such a long recent stretch of injuries. I don't think anyone knows if he is the same player that he was two years ago. Injuries can take a toll.

I don't hate the Bucks. Redd is actually one of my fav players in the league. I guess he was injured most of the year, so people forgot about him..

I wouldnt take either of those one dimensional players (scorers) before Id take McGrady on my team and I highly doubt anyone on here who consistently watches basketball would either...unless they r a Bulls fan-which there are millions of them on here, or memphis fans lol.

Kevin Martin better than Ray Allen??? Ray Ray is older and has worse knees and is still better than Kevin Martin LMAO.. Martin is good and will be even better in the future but no way hes ray allen. Rays going to the hall and has more years left. Whats Martin the best player on a crappy kings teams who gets all the stats.

Thats all Ray was before landing on the C's, and if you look at how Ray has played there is no question they would be better off with a guy like Kevin Martin.

From this list, I'd take Ray Allen with Rip Hamilton not too far behind.

Yeah that would be correct, I checked the players stats and where they started each game and Iggy, Butler, Stephen Jackson while can be disputed as being a SG, started the majority of game at SF..

had to go with t-mac. B/c you are injured does not make you worse. thats what you have to assume, until it is proven otherwise by the formerly injured player.

IMO, numbers 7-9 are interchangeable between Ray Allen, Kevin Martin, and Ben Gordon. I went with BG because I watch him everyday and think he is better than those 2. You can call me a homer, but they are all on the same tier.

BigEric

Gordon is a chucker and Allen's strictly a 3 pt shooter now. Whoever said Kobe was on a crappy team and Lebron was on a crappy team, you're foolish. Lebron had all the hype in the world coming into the NBA and Kobe improved over the years and was granted Shaq. Martin doesn't really make teammates around him all that much better, but he's a SHOOTING GUARD not a POINT GUARD. I don't want my SG to have 10 assists per game. And if you look at last years Kings team, it was Hawes, Thompson, and Garcia that attributed to Martin's low assist total. Thompson , who is vastly improving, wasn't a major force last year, Hawes needed more work and Garcia already peaked. Where else is he getting assisted from?

Bottom line is, you people are voting off of the person's name, not talent. Ray Allen is a catch and shoot 3pt shooter. Creating his own shot? Are you kidding me? Gordon, who I like very much, chucks threes at will, and DOESN'T MAKE HIS TEAM BETTER. You guys don't name the negatives in Gordon ,Allen, TMAC, etc, but you're really quick to shoot down Martin for his faults. Stop going by the guys name and look at facts. 24.1 PPG don't lie.
