I still don't understand why Ryan Zimmerman gets voted in to start the All Star Game while Pablo Sandoval might not even make it onto the team. Pablo has a higher average (.337 to .296), higher OBP (.391 to .369), higher OPS+ (150 to 124), and has only one less home run in over 40 less at bats, not to mention a fielding % at 3B of .983, much more than Zimmerman's .960.

I can understand Zimmerman being voted in as the Nats' sole representative, but he shouldn't be getting the start over Pablo or even David Wright.

Wright is only leading the league in hitting...
And Beltran will probably make it over Hawpe.

Tex or Youk at first, Kinsler at second.
I would put Crawford in over Jones too.

I'd like to see Morneau get the nod at first but All Star Voting dictates who plays there so it will be either Youkilis or Teixeira.

Managers pick the pitchers for the all-star teams, that's why you couldn't vote for them.

Really?

I usually don't pick on someone's opinion but when there are clearly better choices I gotta comment.

Hill, Kinsler
Utley
Wright,Zimmerman (however Reynolds is the closest out of your choices)
Santana, Lincecum, Haren (Carpenter is great but has pitched a lot fewer games than those 3 and Haren is dynamic right now)

I'd probably say you can interchange Utley and Wright. I can see Wright being a 3 or 4 hitter and Utly doing his normal 2 or 3 hole. Other than that, good stuff.

I would take Branyan at first with Cabrara right there with him over Youk, Morneau, Tex, any day.

J Morneau OBP.388 SLG.563 AVG.309 OPS.951 HR 17

Youk OBP.443 SLG.573 AVG.313 OPS 1.016 HR 12

Cabrara OBP.395 SLG.559 AVG.331 OPS .954 HR 16

Tex OBP.387 SLG.575 AVG.276 OPS .962 HR 20

Branyan OBP.400 SLG.609 AVG.303 OPS 1.009 HR 19

It's a toss up between Branyan and Cabrara for me, and for all of you that are shouting for Tex need to look at stats not the NY on his hat.

im sorry if im being a homer, but it will be sad if pablo sandoval is not in this game. Hes hitting 340 with a 391 OBP 11 HRs and a 574 SLG. keep in mind he plays in a ballpark which is a hitters nightmare. he definitely deserves it over wright who is the most overrated player in baseball right now IMO. he gets on base a lot sure, but he isnt even slugging 500 this year and in no way should he start over sandoval

Hill has been easily the best 2B this year. Leads all 2B this year in hits, homeruns, rbi's and is first in the AL in batting average for 2b. He is a no brainer.

Why Kinsler, his numbers are no where near as impressive as Hill, he is batting close to 40 points lower than Hill in batting average and is behind in hits, home runs and rbi's.

Pablo Sandoval isn't even in the top 5 in rankings for 3b is insane.

NL 3b leader- Zimermans stats compared to Sandoval
Zimmerman: .299/.371/.490/.861 12 HR 43 RBI 21 2b 0 3b 36 BB 62 K's
Sandoval: .340/.391/.574/.965 11 HR 38 RBI 23 2b 2 3b 19 BB 38 K's

Sandoval is clearly having the better year and hes not even in the top 5? wow.

look, i am a Jays fan and i put Kinsler in over Hill because Kinsler has a slight numbers advantage.

- Kinsler has almost twice as many walks, 5 less strikeouts, 13 more sb's, a higher Obp, and a higher Slg....
