Shaquille O'Neal is about to become a Cavalier in exchange for Ben Wallace's expiring contract and Sasha Pavlovic. It's becoming much more possible that Amare Stoudemire will be traded to the Rockets for McGrady's expiring, Aaron Brooks, and Carl Landry. There have even been rumors of Steve Nash leaving town. This all seems like the precursor of a rebuilding process to me.
Phoenix already has a center: Robin Lopez. He might not be great, but he's going to be all that's left. If the Houston trade goes through, then Phoenix will once again have the point guard and power forward positions covered with Brooks and Landry. The trade rumor with Indiana even seems plausible if Nash is no longer around.
I think the Suns have stopped running and given up the gun. Who thinks the Suns are rebuilding or re-tooling?

It's rebuilding time for the Suns.

It's obvious they're rebuilding. They would keep amare if they were retooling. They would center the team around him. Phoenix's glory days are long and gone.

Haha glory days? They needed glory to have glory days. But yes, Stoudemire would be the central focus of the team if they were retooling. Nash is getting old and the other guys aren't playing like they did in the previous few seasons. The Suns are steadily declining and are now in the lottery, something many thought would be unthinkable a few years ago.

Haha...you're right, glory days was a bit of a stretch. More like the days when playoffs was guaranteed.

Trading for Shaq ruined them for the foreseeable future. Had they kept Marion they'd still be contenders.
