View Full Version : Where will Allen Iverson end up

With this being a very active time for trades... I wanted to pose the question where will the Answer end up next year. I still feel as though he is a guy that can step in almost any system and average around 20 ppg. But at the same time he can step in a system and become a virus that spreads throughout the team sort of like he did this year in Detroit. With all of this being said where do you think he will end up and what teams could use him immediately

I hope he signs with the Bucks. I know no one wants to play in MIL, but it will put fans in the stands and God knows we need that.

the reason that I posted the question is because he has not come up in any discussions... No one is even talking about him and I feel as though he could still help teams out there... that is if he is signed by the right team

Knicks if they draft someone like thabeet?

MIL if they trade Redd?

I have no idea, I hope he goes somewhere though, just bc hes a good player and he deserves to, even though he has fallen off.

I would go and remove Danny Ferry from office myself if he does that lol. Please do not mess my team up by adding Iverson to that mix because he would definitely be a virus to that team

I hope he comes back to the Sixers

I think the best fit is in Charlotte

The best place to go if he wants to win a championship is Cleveland........Cleveland already has an undersized 2 guard starting in Delonte West, so they could plug AI in as the starting 2 and move Delonte to the bench. AI and Shaq have a mutual admiration for eachother and I know that AI would love to play with Shaq and vice versa. Throw in a couple motivated vets looking for a chip, and a young stud looking to prove the he's the best player in the world, and I think you have a recipe for success.

If AI doesn't come to Philly(and I highly doubt he will), I would like to see him go to the Cavs and win a championship

Its funny that you say that because I feel as though the perfect fit for AI is back in Philly. I feel that they can use his services and that he already has a history there. I think that this would be the best place for him to rejuvenate his career

I think that he's a good fit back here too, but he'd have to come to us and say he wants back not the other way around, because in all honesty the franchise is trying to move on from AI. The fact is that he's just not a part of the direction the team is going, and there's too much bad blood between him and team owner Ed Snider.

He would fit in nicely as the the starting 2 guard or even as the starting point if we don't re-sign Andre Miller IMO....

PG-Andre Miller
SG-Allen Iverson
SF-Andre Iguodala
PF-Elton Brand
C-Sammy D

6th man- Thad

or

PG-Allen Iverson
SG-Andre Iguodala
SF-Thad Young
PF-Elton Brand
C-Sammy D

6th man- Lou Will

If Bobcats get James Johnson with the 13th pick. AI will be in Charlotte. If not..who knows!

The man is on the tail end of his career and wants a ring.

He'd do well in Cleveland. If Mo Williams can survive on the team, they'd do even better with AI as Williams is every bit as selfish as Iverson is accused of being + Iverson is more talented.

Charlotte is improbable as they aren't title contenders, but it'd be nice to see him play there as he's got a great relationship w/ Larry Brown and could help mentor guys like DJ Augustine.

I could also see the Mavs being a good fit.

In the end, he needs to get himself to a playoff team.

I'll sell my season tickets if he comes back to the Sixers. He's not good anymore, won't fit the system whatsoever, he's a cancer in the locker room, and will destroy the chemistry this young team is starting to build up.

i know i might get bashed for this but what about the celts

with all the rumors about allen and or rondo moving i think it would be a good pickup

KG and Peirce can get him under control plus before the celts got Allen and Kg they were going after AI that season

makes sense to me and can play the point and the 2

I read something in the Washington Post saying it's likely he'll play next to Gerald Henderson in Charlotte.

well there were already a thread about him and where he should land. Most people said Bobcats, philly, or at home in retirement.

Hasnt elton brand already done that? 76ers were awful with him in the line up. Iggy was also very awful.

Allen Iverson's career will be truly revived with the Knicks. He fast-paced system is what he needs and we need a guy to take over late in games. We also need a guard to push the tempo and Iverson is still HELLA fast.

IndiansFan337

Charlotte, probably.

He's going to have a very hard time finding a mult-year deal.

If he's willing to settle for a one year deal he very well may want to inquire to NYK & GS about work. GS probably wouldn't have any interest unless they do indeed trade Curry for Amare.

Doesn't matter, he'll still be playing for himself.

I think that in a solid system, AI can still get about, 24, 7, 3.
He needs to go to team with GREAT perimeter D, so the coach can Hide AI somewhere.
HE also needs to go to a team with a decent Point guard to take off some of the pressure from him and just let him be a scorer. He needs to play in a system that wouldn't mind him jacking up at least 20 shots per game.
With that, the team that fits these molds are:
1. Bobcats.
2. Rockets.
3. Jazz.
4. Blazers. (could work if he spent time playing the 1)

Charlotte seems like the popular choice
Under the radar choice-Definitely the Knicks, he would fit well there but it would screw up the knicks chances at 2010 unless they only sign him for one year

I'm not sure on how he would feel about signing with Charlotte, but that would be a good fit.
Not only does Brown and him have a ton of experience working together, but AI could just be that missing piece in Charlotte... I can see him making a significant difference and actually see them contending next year.

Allen Iverson truly has no role in the NBA right now.

He can't even sell tickets these days which was the last reason he still had value in the NBA.

He wants to start, he's old, he wants to win a championship. I'm really not sure which team out their could fill those 3 things.

Maybe Houston like JB said, but then it's a question if Houston even wants him.

Hmmmm? a small 2 guard that loves to have the ball in his hands. im not sure many teams are interested, but expect him to land in Buffalo with TO, LOL. He'll most likely go to a team that is desperate for attention and not necessarily looking for a leader. I think AI is great, but his attitude never grew on me. Its really a shame, because i feel he can still play and help any contender. AI is an unbelievable specimen, but he needs to stop being so prideful and cocky. Grow up dude, and maybe you can retire with a cookie. He said he'd retire because he doesnt see himself coming off the bench, that's selfish. Why not do what you can and help a team where it needs? I hope he has an epiphany and makes the most of his time left in the wonderful world of the NBA!! think about it AI, many of us would give up everything we own to experience life in the NBA. Millions and Millions of teens are in the gym right now aspiring to have your talent, set an example.

I think you've been out of the loop for the past few weeks pal, AI said he'd like to play for Larry Brown again someday. This is why so many people think he'll land in Charlotte
