From ESPN.com (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4285133)

The NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers will likely unload at least one of their three draft picks.

They have the 29th pick in the first round and the 42nd and 59th picks in the second round of Thursday's draft.

General manager Mitch Kupchak said Wednesday that there was a "better than even likelihood" the team would get rid of its first-round pick.

"There's a lot of interest, absolutely," he said. "Certain teams, they may want to preserve cap space for the next year or two and they may need to add players. A good way to add talent at a fixed price is to have a lot of draft choices and then you can still maintain cap space a year from now."

Taken a bit out of context. They aren't just going to trade the pick for peanuts without even seeing what could be there. When the draft rolls around, I think they are going to look for any great value picks there, and then if they still don't see any great value picks, they could go for the best international talent. If there is a run of international talent, they could sell the pick. They'll definitely be listening on trades for future picks.

not a shock, the draft sucks, and at 29 they won't get any player whos worth the money they'd pay him.

Not if you're drafting the player for another team.

I think we can trade it interms of trading a rights to a player where as its not alowed to trade two consecutive picks in the same deal...but the Lakers can always select the player the other team want and trade him after the draft..
