I was sorting through some random players and I found a team with their only All-Star that year, never started a game for them. If you can name examples of the teams best player not even starting, Ill allow you to add me as a friend.... jk but seriously whos up for the challenge.

Iverson-Detroit

If they woulda let him do his thing they woulda have actaully had a chance in the playoffs
Look at the team he took to the finals.

There was a season where Barkley came off the bench for a large portion of his games, because they felt they needed scoring with the second unit. Announcers were incredulous that his numbers were included in the bench production, and that he was being considered for 6th man of the year.

Is he correct?

Thats a very good example, his addition made the Sixers contenders again, looks pretty close, but at 29 Moses was still better than a rookie, if not him Dr.J deserves some consideration.

It was either '93, '94, or '95, Barkely suffered from severe back pains and came off the bench for a large portion of the game for the Suns. He still led the team in scoring and rebounding. Announcers thought it was ridiculous that he was considered for 6th man of the year.

The most famous sixth man is John Havlicek. John Havlicek is the Celtics all-time leader in points and games played. (wiki)

You sure bout that? I have him starting just about every game for the Suns, and I dont remember too many injury plagued seasons in PHX, I do remember those seasons for the Rockets, I remember it happened around my birthday, he began coming off the bench yea he was arguably their best player when they began doing that.

Another good one, would you consider him better than Tyso-Curry-Hinrich?

Considering his versatility, Manu Ginobili could be considered the Spurs' best player. When he needs to, he can score more than Tony Parker or Tim Duncan. He is also the second best distributor on the team after Parker. He is the only contemporary candidate for a team's best player coming off the bench.

NVM guys I was wrong, I was thinking about Ricky Pierce in 1991 he was leading his team in scoring and was rewarded with an All-Star selection. He just wasnt the sole all-star on that team.

First name that came up. Also Xavier Mcdaniel on the Sonics in 1987 or 1988.

Vinnie Johnson :D

but for real, I wouldnt say Frank Ramsey was the best on his team, but he was great, same with Kevin McHale. Only person who would be considered the best would be John Havlicek

Not saying he was their best player that year, but Kobe couldn't crack the Lakers line-up one year yet he started in the all-star game........Pretty sure it was his rookie season not sure I am no fan of Kobe.

His 2nd year, and he did have a great year, he didnt deserve to be in the all star game, let alone starting.
