Would you as a fan hate the best player on your team if he was on roids.

ie. Pujols for cards fans, howard for philies fans, wright for mets fans, halladay for jays fans, pedroia for bosox fans etc.

No, but I would be really dissapointed

They would no longer be my favorite player...let's put it that way.

No, it's hard to blame the guys, in my opinion. With almost everyone around you doing them, I think some guys felt like they weren't getting their due. They weren't getting the respect they deserved (awards, HOF consideration, etc) and they weren't being paid as they should. Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone, but I think there was such an overwhelming pressure to even the playing field for some of the guys that I don't think they should all be made into villains.

no just really really disappointed and kind of embarassed

It depends on the guy, if he was a showoff, dickish player then i would hate him but if he was a guy who does stuff for the team and for charity then i would just be dissapointed.

Manny is still the best player on the Dodgers, and I still love him.

This isn't a Yes or No question. It's a lot deeper than that. You can hate and love someone at the same time. I'd imagine that's how a lot of Yankee fans (at least some) feel about A-Rod. Look at Phillies fans, they booed Mike Schmidt for years, but he's still one of the all-time greats ever to play for them. Met fans, we love Strawberry and Gooden, yet many are very disappointed in the way they handled themselves off the field.

More to the point, I would be disappointed in my favorite player (David Wright, I guess), extremely so, since part of the reason why I like him is that I like to tell myself he's humble and honest and all that stuff, like he's our version of Derek Jeter. I'd imagine I would get over it eventually, but it would be something i would forgive, but never forget.

Try adding some more options next time.

I don't hate A Rod. Why would I hate Felix Hernandez?

If any of my Twins were on roids I would be crushed. All these cheaters make me sick. There are great natural players and I would cheer for them. I can't stand the players that have/are using the stuff, but I really can't stand that MLB let the game of baseball get ruined with roids. The league is at fault here too.

I would be embarrassed but not hate the guy...I WOULD hate anyone that juices for another team...or, if my "favorite" juiced and then went to another team, I would go hoarse booing him if I saw him at a game....

Hate? No. Disappointed? Yes

My favorite player is Curtis Granderson. He is a solid ballplayer. Ambassador of the game. Active in community, and popular with players. His overall body of work would make it hard to hate him. In fact I would still like him, but it would be hard to forget what he did.

I would be unbelievably disappointed, not to mention embarrassed, and his legacy would be tarnished.

Hate is such a strong word. If I found out my favorite player took steroids, I'd just be disappointed. It'd be a shame, but then again, so many of them were doing it back then.

Who's the Pirates star player? Freddy Sanchez? no i would not hate him.

06-21-2009, 01:16 PM
I would be very disappointed, and more than a bit angry, but I wouldn't hate them.

06-21-2009, 01:38 PM
I wouldnt respect them anymore.

cheaters are cheaters IMO.

it wouldn't make sense for wright with all of his 4 home runs..
i would be terribly disappointed in him but i wouldn't hate the guy..

06-21-2009, 02:49 PM
Why hate?

06-21-2009, 03:14 PM
i cant say i would hate, cause bonds was my favorite player and i dont hate him. i would be really frustrated though cause i would want to just get past all of this. it would be a bummer for sure.

06-21-2009, 03:15 PM
if i'm going to see the players that did in a negative light(like bonds),than i'd be a hypocrite to excuse my guy and say its ok
