Amid trade rumors that he is offering everyone from point guard Rajon Rondo [stats] to center Kendrick Perkins [stats] to move up in next Thursday’s NBA draft, Celtics [team stats] general manager Danny Ainge didn’t sound like a man particularly encouraged by the possibilities yesterday.

“I think it’s unlikely,” Ainge said of trading up. “It’s possible, but unlikely.”

Though Ainge declined to discuss the rumors involving Rondo, a team source sniffed at the speculation involving the young floor leader, saying, “Rondo’s not going to be traded.”

I don't know why they would want to trade Rondo to move up in the draft. Who are they looking for?

I really hope they make some trades to be honest. It'll probably ruin the team. I guess the Celtics don't believe they can win a championship with the squad they have. I don't know why.

That would be stupid! Why would the Celtics do that? This is also a very weak NBA draft.

rondo should be the pg they build around

yea doesn't make much sense to me. unless they dont think Rondo will be as good in the future as he was these past 2 years. its not like there's any1 worth trading up for in this years draft.

They need to stick it out with their current roster for another 2 years imo.
