Most Compelling Dec 25th, Christmas Day Matchup in 2009

Already looking into next season and the possible Christmas Day matches.

Obviously the Lakers will probably play on Christmas Day, but who would they play?

Also which game would be best to see?

A) Lakers vs Celtics (Last 2 champs meet and teams with most titles ever)
B) Celtics vs Cavaliers (Matchup that many expected to happen last year in the playoffs)
C) Cavaliers vs Magic (Rematch of the ECF finals)
D) Lakers vs Magic (Rematch of the NBA Finals)
E) Rockets vs Blazers (Rematch of the 1st round last year)
F) Lakers vs Nuggets (Rematch of the WCF)
G) Lakers vs Rockets (High Octane 2nd round battle rematch)
H) Bulls vs Celtics (Rematch of the Thriller 1st round series)
I) Hornets vs Jazz (CP3 vs Deron)
J) Spurs vs Mavs (History between the Teams)
K) Magic vs Celtics (Rematch of great 7 game series)
L) Rockets vs Magic (Yao vs Dwight)
M) Nuggets vs Blazers (Melo vs Roy)
N) Heat vs Cavaliers (Wade vs Lebron)
O) Lakers vs Cavaliers (Kobe vs Lebron)
Other

Dec. 25: Merry Christmas to the fifth degree
For the second straight year, the NBA serves up a quintupleheader: Heat-Knicks at noon (ESPN), followed by Celtics-Magic and LeBron-Kobe on ABC, and Clippers-Suns and Nuggets-Trail Blazers as the nightcap doubleheader on ESPN.

why not just wait until the schedule comes out?

why not just wait until the schedule comes out?

Or people can answer the question of which game they'd most like to see w/o being a dbag, but I guess you can't.

Anyway, I will answer the question unlike Lakers09.
I'd like to see the rematch of Lakers-Magic or a first time match of Lakers-Cavs for one game. And for the second game Heat-Cavs or Magic-Celtics depending on whether the Magic or Cavs played the Lakers in my first game.

My homer pick is Bulls-Celtics rematch, but I think that's more of a Christmas Eve matchup since its only a 1st round rematch, albeit from an incredibly exciting series.

I can see Bulls/Celtics, Lakers/Cavs (especially if the Cavs get Shaq).

Clippers will probably be in there too thanks to Griffin.

Maybe a Lakers/Clippers battle.

Rather see LA @ Cleveland. LA has been home the past 2 years and even got the home game last year against Boston.

I also would like to see Boston vs San Antonio and now perhaps Bulls vs Pistons now that Gordon has gone there.

I gotta go with the Knicks and the Heat....cuz next year when we have Lebron and they have Wade the rivalry will be reborn, so might as well have a Christmas game where they get into a huge brawl and Mike D'Antoni is hanging off Udonis Haslem's leg to jump start the rivalry.

Well, I do think that there were 2 or 3 games on Christmas Day last season.

I certainly expect to see LeBron, Shaq & the Cavs against Kobe & the LAL.

Then maybe Boston vs. Orlando or Boston vs. SAS?

There are 3 games...2 on ABC and 1 on TNT. The 1:00pm game is usually the "JV" game with the 3:30pm game being the must-see contest. I think it is pretty clear that Cleveland-L.A. will be the main event. That is the game everyone wants to see. My guess is it goes like this...

1:00pm (ABC)
-San Antonio at Boston

3:30pm (ABC)
-Cleveland at L.A. Lakers

8:00pm (TNT)
-Orlando at Washington

Maybe there was 4 games last year? I know there were 3...

1. New Orleans at Orland
2. Boston at L.A.
3. Washington at Cleveland

Maybe there was a 4th game thrown in there between Phoenix and San Antonio?

Game 1: Lakers vs Spurs - it will be fun to see the top West teams play now that both rosters will look different
Game 2: Magic vs Celtics vs Cavaliers (2 of 3) - Again with very different looks next year it will be interesting to see how they play against the other elite teams to see who is the real "Beast of the East"
