I think he came up 2006 to replace Jeff Weaver when we traded him to the Cards...and he won the World Series with them...But we got Terry Evans

world series for jeff weaver or not, ditching him to put jered in the rotation was a good move. Made for an ackward thanksgiving i bet though.

Yes, 3rd GC, but 1st Shutout. He's been our best guy all year and I will be upset if he doesn't make the All Star game. This is the level of performance I've been expecting since all the hoopla that surrounded him in college. Not that he was bad his first few seasons, but he didn't really meet the high expectations until now.

As an Angels fan I think it's amazing how our starters step it up year after year after constant injuries to our rotation. Weaver is having a great year, but its gonna be hard for him to keep it up throughout the year. I expect his ERA to be in the low to mid 3.00's when its all said and done.

Weaver has been their ace so far this year afaic... Palmer has been good as well but Weaver has anchored that staff and without him they'd be doing a whole lot worse. Nice to see brother weaver doing well!

He could end up starting the ASG over both Greinke & Halladay if this continues......Obviously, a lot of it will depend on if any of those guys have a start right before the All-Star break.
