i don't remeber another season in recent years that was as heavily influenced by injuries to high-profile players as this season.

for the playoffs alone:
boston didn't have garnett
orlando didn't have nelson
l.a. only had half a bynum

that's three of the four best teams

then there's houston:
do they lose to the lakers, if they have yao for the whole series?
how about mcgrady? i know it seemed like they were better off without him, but on the other hand they really really lacked scoring in this series.

utah is another interesting team:
they lost boozer for a large part of their season. they could probably have gotten a better seat and an easier matchup in the first round...

philly is probably one of the most interesting...
they really seemed better without elton brand. but then again they would probably have fared better with him against orlando in the first round...

not to mention gilbert arenas missing the whole season. remember, the wizards were a playoff team with him in the lineup...

i'm sure i forgot someone...

so my question is:
does anyody remember a season that was as heavily influenced by injuries? i don't...
