Pirates probable pitcher
Zach Duke

* #57 LHP
* (6-4) 2.62 ERA 42 SO

Duke stretched his streak of pitching at least seven innings to five straight starts as he gave up just one run in seven innings in his last start on Tuesday. He threw only 90 pitches as he outdueled the Mets' Johan Santana. Duke has won three of his last four decisions, with the only loss coming when he pitched eight innings and surrendered only two runs.

Braves probable pitcher
Kenshin Kawakami

* #11 RHP
* (3-6) 4.63 ERA 46 SO

Since tossing eight scoreless innings against the Blue Jays on May 22, Kawakami has once again proven to be mediocre. After surrendering a leadoff homer to Alfonso Soriano on Tuesday night, he pitched effectively before allowing the Cubs to produce a two-run sixth inning. The 33-year-old right-hander hadn't allowed a homer in his previous six starts. The Braves will continue to monitor his shoulder which has fatigued while he's adapted to the schedule of a five-man rotation.
