He was never really that good. Hes a shoot first point guard.. and if you shoot alot, you score alot. He was just on a hotstreak for awhile IMO.

he sucks nothing happened to him.. inconsistant 3pt shooter.. nothing more.. lol @ sidekick

I was wondering the same thing during the game last night. Is he a DNP this whole series? He was a big part of the bench until Mo Williams and West came.

Yeah, what they said.

Mo Williams is what happened. And West's improvement.

Gotta love a former Longhorn, but... he was never really that nice, he went on a hot streak, and cooled down faster then he heated up.

When teams finally started to guard him and not leave him open like Detroit did and SA a lil bit about 2 years back he started to struggle. Plus he's not really a pass first PG nor is he nearly as good as Mo and not even as good as West. Boobie ain't really much more than a spot up open 3-pt specialist.

Boobie gibson hurt his toe really bad early in the season. Anyone who shoots 3's knows that a bad toe can destroy your game. Thats what happened with gibson. He will be back next season healthy and ready to go. Or even later on in this series or next.

Yeah for real. A toe is actually more important than a finger IMO.

I broke the middle finger of my right hand (shooting hand) and the next day I went 6/6 3 point shooting, and dropped 28, when on average i score like 8 points.

He's a good three point shooter but not a great ball handler for a point gaurd and with West and Williams he doesn't deserve much time. I think they really need another shooting gaurd to put with Lebron. Right now you have a two man team cause behnd Mo and Lebron the rest of the team sucks. They are lucky the eastern conference has been weak as hell the past 5 or 6 years.

What happened is Mo and West start, then he is fighting to come off the bench with Wally and Sasha. So if he isn't hitting is shot, he doesn't get the playing time. 2 years ago he was the main guy coming off the bench, our team has just gotten better.

He started hittin Keyshia Cole and got comfortable....

If anybody remembers, he got injured i think last season, and was bumped from the starting lineup and was never the same.

He played 3 minutes in game one.

He plays off the bench now, being on the floor when Lebron isn't means you actually get guarded.

superkegger
05-23-2009, 01:57 PM
He's a scrub who only got the contract he did because LeBron likes him. He's a 3 point shooter who has nothing else to his game, making him a liability on the floor.

He's a scrub who for a short period of time got hot, simple as that. The Cavs just didn't have better options a few years ago.

I kept telling those breakout bandwagoners that he'd be the next Kareem Rush.

Just because it was a playoff game doesnt change the fact that it was 1 game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gibson ended up in the D-League or playing overseas.

NYtilIdie

He plays you just cant tell cause he plays the final 3 mins of a quarter when Mo on the floor and Mo runs the offence so he rarely touchs the ball. After he hurt his toe he hasn't been the same he should get more minutes next year since Wally's not coming back next year. So he needs to get his mind off Keyshia Cole's p**** and needs to hit the gym to work on that Jumper (thats easier said then done though)

Just like almost everyone else from that finals team 2 years ago, he wasn't good. Which makes LeBron carrying them to the finals when he was only 21-22 more unbelievable.

common guys learn sports. People are calling gibson overrated lol. He was a second round draft pick. The kid had a great playoff series vs pistons, then had a very good year in 08. Had some injuries and will be fine.

Is lebron not surpose to make players around him better? for real. duhhhhhh. lol.

Delonte West, and Mo Williams

There's nothing special about him. He is way overrated. The team lacked a player at the 2; now they have delonte and Mau, he's pretty much useless.

daniel gibson played a huge role in the cavs getting to the finals that year...lebron fans like to forget the fact that gibson was hitting everything from long range against the pistons...

they like to believe that bron did it all by himself...well that is wrong...

gibson wasn't even close to being considered the second best player on that team. illguaskas was the second best...he's probably now the 3rd or 4th best player on the team.
then there was drew gooden and larry hughes who were both better than him...larry hughes actually avg'd 15ppg the year the cavs made it to the finals

Couldn't agree more...Since they got Mo' and West, it's over...

He had one good playoffs series, and he never improved in his 3rd season because he's a one dimensional player.

Simple... he was good when the team was not that good. More talent came and his role become smaller.

Right now he can have some decent games, but he is not one of the Cavs main options.

The former sidekick.

He gets less PT because we have other reliable 3 pt shooters, even though most of them have struggled in this Orlando series. Also, he would struggle against Orlando's bigger guards. Playing him alongside Mo Williams at all would be a nightmare defensively considering Orlando often goes with Pietrus or Turkoglu at SG.
