Well, aside from how funny that sounds, is it a good business move? I mean, we are talking about the Clippers here.

On Wednesday, the Clippers strategically placed pictures of Griffin on their Web site to advertise ticket sales for next season.

why wouldn't it be a good move?
Griffin is their player might as well promote him now, unless Griffin comes out and says
he doesn't want to play for them which is unlikely

How would using the #1 pick to sell tickets be a bad move?

Makes sense for them to do it, but is there not any rules on that sort of stuff? Are you allowed to advertise a player if he's not got a contract with you?

I suppose it is different if it's a guy you intend to take with the #1 pick though...

Ya, it's fine... as long as you have the #1 pick, if you had the #2-3 pick and did it I don't know.

Makes sense and they also have Rubio on there as well, so its not like their advertising Griffin lol.

I would laugh so hard if Griffin denies going to the Clippers and asks for a trade.

I really feel sorry for him.

If I was him, I'd pull out of the draft and go to Europe for a year instead and enter next year.

Imagine if they did get Griffen, and in 2010 they were able to land a top free agent? Clippers would be pretty scary :O

Clipper were basically giving away free tickets to the last 5~8 games before the season ended.

They should really relocate Clippers to somewhere else.

If they wanted to go stay in the same division, San Francisco would be good.

I think San Francisco would be more happy to have them than the Lakers.

Even better is if they relocate them to Seattle and they can have the Sonics again.

They can just move around teams to get the divisions right.

Sure, why not.

It would be pretty funny if they drafted someone else.

I also see Rubio there, so...

why would it be bad...and every team that gets the number 1 pick has done the same thing

The Clips should move to Anaheim, they'd be able to step out of the Lakers shadow. Anaheim wants a team and could support them.

I think advertising the top pick is a good idea, they could use all the help they could get.

im telling you guys they should trade marcus camby and chris kaman for shaq. they should draft blake griffin and he can come off the bench for his rookie season on a pretty talented clippers team.

I hear Blake is retiring if hes going to have to play in LA for any other team than the Lakers.

I said yes, but if it's true that they'd listen to offers if they were REALLY good for him, then I don't get why they don't just wait till after the draft.

Haha, try to get fans excited early on isn't a bad idea right? I'm sure people out there want to see how Griffin will play.
