Art Garcia, one of the main writers for NBA.com, has picked Denver to win in six games (http://www.nba.com/2009/news/features/art_garcia/05/17/den.lal.preview/).

He references the generally superior play of the Nuggets, and the lack of the Lakers' heart. Kobe Bryant will play well as always, but he's not so sure about the rest of the team. Denver easily appears to be the tougher team.

Despite Carmello's past trouble with the Lakers, he also referenced his breakout post-season.

He also compares the two teams' front courts. Los Angeles might have the length, but the Denver front court is more active and athletic.

Finally, he asks whether a Lakers squad who had trouble dispatching a depleted Houston will be able to beat a superior Denver team at full strength.

Easily the most upset potential in this series and not just because the Lakers have been so inconsistent. The Nuggets have a ton of talent, they're actually playing D for George Karl, and Billups is the quarterback all their talent has needed for a while. Also, the role players are coming up very big.

I never heard of him so his pick means nothing to me.
I'd rather see what the list of ESPN experts choose.

Are the Nuggets really playing solid D? Against Dallas, they held them to less than a 100 once. Dallas scored 95 in the first game, then over a 100 in next 4 games.

Trust me, they can't stop us. It's not like it's Houston.

What happened last year?

Who was Denver's point guard last year?

didn't need its own thread.

There are plenty of news stories that have their own threads. This one is just as deserving.

I have the Lakers in 6. These writers do not know what theyre talking about. The Lakers seems to relax against weaker teams but will always up the notch against the big boys. IMHO Bynum's and Pau's length would be too much.

I see no need for this thread. ESPN has 10 analysts and 3 pick Denver.
