1st options: Kobe, Wade, Lebron, C. Paul, T. Duncan, KG, Howard, B. Roy, D. Williams, Dirk Nowitzki (He has no. 1 talent, but would be better as a no. 2 guy), Y. Ming

2nd options: D. Granger, J. Johnson (no. 1 on his team, but would be better as a no. 2), Iguodala, Melo, Amare, Bosh, R. Allen, T. Mac (No. 1 talent, but would be better as the no. 2 guy), Pierce,, Ginobli, Gasol, T. Parker

i actually see danny granger as more of a number one option than joe johnson..however any team with those guys as #1s arent winning a chip.

How is Dirk, and MVP better as a 2nd option? Melo 2nd option? Deron Williams is not the 1st option he's a point guard and the teams 2nd option.

Melo is a first option, williams is a 2nd - utah seems like a team of 2nd options, pierce is a first option, tony parker really is the first option with duncan being more passive..... just some thoughts.

I don't see how Dirk is better as a 2nd option? The guy is one of the most productive and efficient players their is in the league. He just may need someone like a Paul Pierce or Brandon Roy to be a go to guy in the 4th, but he is a #1 option.

True 1st options: Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, Paul Pierce, Carmelo Anthony, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard, Yao Ming, and Gilbert Arenas

True 2nd options currently playing as the first: Michael Redd, Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay, Andre Iguodala, Gerald Wallace, Ben Gordon, Al Harrington, Richard Hamilton, Zach Randolph, Stephen Jackson, Kevin Martin, Amar'e Stoudemire, Vince Carter, and Tim Duncun (at this point in his career)

IMO a true first option is responsible for a certain amount of points, gets the most offensive touches, and changes a game for his team simply with his presence on the floor. Every true first option should be able to do those things on a consistent basis to keep his status as a 1st option.

For younger, upcoming #1 options: Durant, Granger, Roy, Gay.

Kobe's getting old, and so is TD and Nowitski. They're still #1 options, I'm just pointing out prospective #1s
