haha, you know you will be crushed by Laker fans for even thinking they won't make it, don't you??
Anyways, Denver has just as good a shot as LA, they are playing awesome. But, in the end, I think the Lakers make it out of the west
Cleveland beats LA in 6

What?

Lakers have proven they can win, undermanned, in Cleveland. The LeBron Travelling Band havent done anything to suggest they can win at the staples centre

Im not saying Cleveland cant win it, they wont but Im not saying they cant. Either way this is going to 7.

Lakers Cavs, it's just a matter of playing the games out at this point IMO. If the Celtics manage to get past the Magic, it isn't gonna be easy, they are probably in for another 6-7 game series. Sure they did it last year too, but that was with KG, and dismiss KG's importance if you must, but KG was a HUGE part of that run. I could see KG coming back for the Cavs if it happens, but I doubt he'll be anywhere in the ballpark of 100%. Celtics will be wayyyy to gassed to beat the Cavs in a 7 game series, while Lebron and the gang will probably be well rested, don't see the Hawks series lasting any longer than the Pistons series myself. Denver and Dallas - they won't get past the Lakers.

Kobe vs. Lebron is what the NBA wants no doubt, and honestly unless your a fan of the other 6 teams, isn't that what you would wanna see too?

Cavs vs. Lakers because that's what ABC, David Stern and all the guys on ESPN want so it's gonna happen, I expect the Cavs to win so Stern can crown Lebron as the champ and the new face of the NBA like he's wanted to do since 2007....boy I'm pissed the Heat didn't beat the Hawks beacuse I wanted Wade to out play Lebron and make Stern look like a fool in the process.

I've said a few times that I wouldn't count Denver out in a series against the Lakers. Bynum hasn't been particularly impressive on the boards since returning, and I think their inside guys can be physical enough to take us out of our game. Billups can do a lot of damage against us as well.

ctwn4life

Anyone thinking the Lakers are gonna win 4-1 against the Cavs is truly on CRACK......The Cavs play the BEST defense in the league......Can't even argue that.....What happened last year when the Lakers ran into a team from the East who played Tough-Nosed, shut u down defense????? They got ran off the floor.....That's what will happen if the two meet up in the Finals.....The Lakers look great on paper.....But, DEFENSE wins Championships....Not, a run and gun team with a ball-hog running the show.....Enough said.

Master Mind says-
-The Rockets will upset the Lakers

-The Nuggets will crush the Mavs

Western Conference Finals: Nuggets vs. Rockets
Nuggets win, advances to the NBA finals

-The Magic will handle the Celts

-The Cavs will beat the Hawks

Eastern Conference Finals: Cavs vs. Magic
Magic win, advances to the NBA Finals

NBA Finals: Nuggets vs. Magic
Nuggets win

With that being said/predicted-

Upset watch: Cavs vs. Hawks

It doesn't matter if it's Denver, LA, or Houston that make it out of the West because Cleveland is going to win the championship. They're a head above the rest of the NBA. Lebron is too good to lose to any of those teams in the finals.

Rockets vs Cavs in the finals

Rockets in 6

LeBron is not as good as Kobe. And anyone who thinks so should be banned from watching television. Plus Houston's defense is better than Cleveland. So IF this were the finals, Cavs would probably win a couple at home because David Stern would put on a size XXL referee uniform and call a giant Flagrant 2 on the whole Rockets team. Don't count out the Lakers/Nuggets... I think the Mavs are done. Celtics will be done unless KG returns, and Hawks have enough talent but not enough love from the refs.

So overall Rockets vs Cavs... Secondary pick is Lakers vs Cavs and the Nuggets definitely have a shot also.

And Houston is better defensively than Cleveland. You can put whatever stats you like up, but when comparing a team that plays in the East vs West defensively, you have no comparison.

This series would be pretty interresting. I actually think that the Nuggets match up well with the Cavs. Billups can handle Moe Williams, and the frontline and depth of the the Nuggets might have the edge on the Cavs. That being said, LBJ won't be stopped. Who do you guys have? I'm going out on a limb here and saying Denver in 6.

Am I like the only one who doesnt take Denver seriously? Im feeling kind of how I did when the Clippers almost made the Conference Finals. Like we are damn lucky to be in this position.

I wouldve taken a healthy Spurs, Jazz, Rockets. To me they are more on that Dallas/NewOrleans/PHX (When healthy) level I hope Im wrong because nothing would bring me more satisfaction than an old fashion underdog story and how fitting would it be that in the end the 2 teams no one envisioned to be there, end up there, Melo vs Bron becomes the closest thing to Bird vs Magic since. But I say Lakers in 5

Giantwarrior
05-11-2009, 04:19 AM
I think Denver is pretty weak as well. They have been playing pretty soft teams and have not been challenged yet. Denvers defense is pretty bad at times, they give up alot of easy points. And plus it's harder for teams to play in Denver because of the high altitude, it's a proven fact. it's easier for the nuggets because they are used to it, but it takes a few days for visiting opponets to get used to the air.

Am I like the only one who doesnt take Denver seriously?

No. They're still not getting the respect they deserve from probably a majority of NBA fans. Although their success so far in these playoffs has caused people to take notice.

But you, Chronz, are among the many they are systematically proving wrong. "This series is going seven games" was, if I'm not mistaken your exact quote about DEN-DAL. And game 3 controversy notwithstanding, the Nuggets have performed very convincingly against the Mavericks (averages from games 1-3):

FG% 3pt% FT% OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF PTS
DENVER .487 .327 .759 10 27.67 37.67 23.67 10.33 6.33 10 24.33 110.67

DALLAS .455 .339 .783 10 30 40 18.33 5 3.33 13.67 28 101.67

I shouldve said Josh is the wild card the Mavs arent the same team with him injuring himself every other play, but they prolly go down in 6 rather than the in 5 its looking like. Either way its not a 7 game series, but Im predicting a horrible end once they face the Lakers, but Im predicting a Finals birth if Houston miraculously downs the Lakeshow.

I haven't watched the Nugs/Mavs series but since the Nugs are up 3-0 and the Lakers were practically blown out by a Yao-less, McGrady-less, Mutombo-less Rockets team.. it's the Nugs who meet a horrible end if they face the Lakers? Are you suggesting the Nugs won't make it a competitive series?

After wins by the Celtics and Lakers tonight - all they have to do is win one more game each to be only one round away from each other for a repeat Finals. I would love for a rematch and I really hope the Lakers make it if the Celtics can get past the Cavs in the Conference Finals. This will be another series for the ages.

I would feel more confident betting on a Nuggets-Cavs showdown at this point....

Yes, its easier for the team facing lesser competition to win a series in impressive fashion. And really this series should be 2-2 right now but the Mavs couldnt execute down the stretch.
