Game 6 Thu. April 30, Portland @ Houston, 9:30 EST TNT (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/preview?gid=2009043010)

HOUSTON (AP)—The strategy seems simple enough: Pass the ball to Yao Ming.

Once again, the Portland Trail Blazers shut off that option for the Houston Rockets and stayed alive in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Yao scored 15 points—but only two in the fourth quarter—in the Blazers’ 88-77 win on Tuesday night to force Game 6 on Thursday night in Houston. The 7-foot-6 Yao, a seven-time All-Star and Houston’s leading scorer at 19.7 points per game during the regular season, took only four shots in the last quarter and the Rockets were outscored 24-15.

The Blazers have mostly defended Yao by putting either Joel Przybilla or Greg Oden in front of him and then double-teaming whenever he touches the ball. Yao found a way to score 24 points in Game 1 and 21 in Game 4, leaving the game plan for Game 6 fairly obvious—at least to him.

Houston takes this one of they get it to Yao. Bench isn't as deep with no Wafer so they will rely on Yao more now. Should be good to see if Portland can win it.

I'm a little nervous with Wafer being out. Being that it's a home game though, should save us. If not, I think the Trailblazers will win the series. Rockets by 3.

If Brent Barry gets to play over 10 minutes- Rockets will win. He will get the ball to Yao and then if Yao doesnt have a shot he will pass it out to Brent for the automatic 3 or Brent will go and do a nasty dunk. Brent Barry brings experience, great offense, and a high basketball IQ. The only negative is he can't guard anybody on Portland except for maybe Rudy F but Rudy is faster so Brent can't let him get away. The thing I love about playing Portland is Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Aldridge are so damn entertaining to watch. Sept then I wanna shoot Joel Pryzbilla and Greg Oden.

Rockets 93-86.

Did the Rockets sign someone else named Brent... because Brent Barry isn't really the posterizing type. That is just funny to think about. "Vicious dunk by Brent Barry!!!"

I was joking but just so you know he is the only white player to ever win the dunk contest.... He has actually had some pretty nasty dunks this year but rarely ever dunks or even plays. Here is a video from the dunk contest that he won...

earlier today Darryl Morey, the gm of the rockets, said on a radio station that he was doubtful and most likely not going to play but Wafer warmed up and was cleared by the training staff at the last second.

He means guys like me, A Portland fan in South Carolina, and my local cable company doesn't offer NBA League Pass, so I was just SOL! :(

Congrats to the Rockets and fans, maybe this is just the beginning of a Great run in seasons to come for my Blazers, Houston has waited a long time for this had more experienced players and just wanted it a little more this year!
