Game 3 - Thu. April 23, Boston @ Chicago, 8 p.m., TNT (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/preview?gid=2009042304)

DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP)—Considering Kevin Garnett is wearing a suit instead of a uniform, it seemed only natural that all eyes would be on Paul Pierce as the Boston Celtics launched their title defense.

Anyone looking toward the spotlight needs to check again.

Pierce was content to stand toward the side as the Celtics split the first two playoff games against the Bulls, and with Game 3 in Chicago on Thursday, he had no plans to move unless called upon.

“If that’s what’s going to help us win, that’s what I’ll be,” he said. “If I have to go out there and get somebody else open and set more screens and it’s going to be effective and help our ballclub win, that’s what I’m going to do.”

They might need a little more now.

Already short-handed, the Celtics lost Leon Powe to a season-ending knee injury in Game 2 and saw speedy point guard Rajon Rondo sprain his right ankle.

Pierce? He’s healthy.

I've got the Celtics tonight. It took some awesome performances by Rose and Gordon in games one and two to keep it close, but I think the Celtics are more capable of putting it together as a team.

The losses inside are huge though, I still wouldn't be entirely suprised to see the Bulls win.

Took two great games from Rondo for the C's to be in the 1st two game, took Ray Allen to get scorching hot in the 2nd half of game 2, not to mention big baby having a career game. See that's easy.

Yes it did, but we haven't heard from Paul Pierce yet. Like I said, I think the Celtics are more likely to put together a great team effort to pull one out. I'm not taking anything away from the Bulls though, like I said, I wouldn't be incredibly suprised if they won here.

I'd take Chauncey, Tony Parker, CP3, D-Will over him. That last spot is up for grabs though. My choices would be Devin Harris, Derrick Rose, and, of course, Rondo.

Yeah I decided to procrastinate and such. Next week is finals week so...probably wasn't a good idea. Anyways you guys played good/great/whatever you want to call it. We played horrible. Nonetheless, Sunday Sunday Sunday!

i still got another week of class and then finals. gonna be a tough week, but its watever.

Don't u love the playoffs?

If u win, u feel like u will never lose again and your on top of the World.
If u lose, u feel like u will never win again and everything sucks.

amazing how 1 night can change everything.

Yeah, I'm graduating in two weeks, so I'm stoked on that. Just need to finish off strong by doing well on those finals.

And, man, you guys took last games momentum and continued on today. I'm hoping the scenario turns out to, we take the first game in your home court, you take second game, you take first game in our home court, we take second. The loss was demoralizing, but I'm excited for Game 4.

u might be the only Bulls fan excited for that right now. there is no other bulls fans on here.

u know its funny tho, bc in the Bulls forum i went in and said:

Game 1 Rondo vs. Rose -Rose won
Game 2 Ray Allen vs. BG -Ray Ray won
Game 3 Pierce vs. Salmons?

and I was right! ha Pierce clearly won that.

so game 4 Big Baby vs. Ty Thomas? lol wow what an ugly game that would be.

or game 5 PerkIsABeast vs. Noah

Well for Game 3 Pierce vs Salmons, I was hoping more like Salmon stepping up as Rose and BG did in the previous games. Pierce obviously was the winner. And if Game 4 is Davis vs. TT, well then I agree, it's going to be an ugly game. Haha. I'm excited because I'm looking forward to how our young guys react to such a bad loss. See if they step it up, or just fade away. And excited because it's the gosh darn playoffs and the Bulls are in it!
