I think this series will come down to who Big Z decides to play harder for, but that will surely be Cleveland since the loyalty between he and the franchise has been unwavering for so many years. Detroit has only begun to show confidence in him starting with this series.

Cleveland in 5 with Detroit taking one at the Palace.

Detroit is a mess, but they do have experience and can take at least 1 game.

The Pistons need to find that 5 man dominance they once had and focus their offense on moving the ball to an open Sheed for 3's. As well as running pick and rolls with Rip and Mcdyess.

You said it yourself, Detroit has been together for YEARS! They're old now. And LeBron doesn't need help to beat them. When the Cavs beat them in 07 he didn't have help. Didn't he score like 30 straight points in the deciding game 6 that year?

I'm laughing at those who honestly think Detroit can get two against Cleveland without A.I. or any other scoring threat coming off the bench. Detroit couldn't even beat chicago in an VERY important game which is why they're playing the cavs in the first place lmao. Cleveland in four book it. I think most people would agree that there's a better chance of Utah stealing two against the lakers then there is a chance of Detroit stealing two against Cleveland.

Lebron beat detroit by himself. He scored 29 of his teams final 30 points in game 5 and the pistons feared him beating him again so much after that game that they left boobie gibson WIDE open. Watch the film man outside of game six boobie was non existant as was gooden, hughes, and the rest of the bums we had on that team. Don't worry though, after we're done with the Pistons we WILL be coming for Wade...that's if they make it past the Hawks which I highly doubt.

JayW_1023

I don't think Detroit will have much of an edge...they'll prolly win one game with a gutsy defensive performance on a night where Cleveland is cold from the perimeter.

I expect LeBron and his team to dominate at home...as a team they are much more of a unity now. Detroit lost their unity when they traded Chauncey Billups for AI.

The Warriors beat the Mavs 3 out of 4 that year during the regular season. It was a bad matchup for the Mavs. It wasn't really that much of a surprise to people who know basketball. The Cavs won this season series 3-1.

When the Knicks beat the Heat it was a 50 game season. The Knicks were only 8 games behind Heat. The Pistons are 27 games behind the Cavs.

LeBron is only 24. Jordan was only in his 3rd year at age 24. He hadn't taken a team to the Finals on his back yet like LeBron has and he hadn't led his team to the best record in the league yet.

Every one of your examples was a major failure :pity:.

Too much Lebron and his supporting cast is playing with a swagger and confidence, but what happens if the Pistons, who are capable, steal game1? How does a team that had minimal adversity all season respond. Do they even know how to?

Pistons best bet is do what the Spurs did a couple of years ago, double, triple team him. Turn him into a passer and clog the lane.

Turn him into a passer and clog the lane.

maybe you weren't paying attention but that Cavs team from a few years ago didn't have Wally, Delonte and Mo Williams on it

the nba playoffs are way to long and drug out....i mean they let over half of the teams into the playoffs....16 out of 30 teams? i think it should only be 12....it all comes down to one thing. $money$

Cavs in 4...The pistons are not the powerhouse in the east they they were for the past 6 years! And on top of that, once Ben Wallace left, The pistons have had no answer for Lebron! With no defensive big man, Lebron will go in at will!

This is going to be an embarassing moment for the Pistons. They couldnt beat the Cavs with Chauncey except for that 1 year with a horrible Cavs team and now they wont even win a game, maybe 1.

They will not steal 1 at the Q!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Iverson had accepted the sixth man role Detroit would've been in a better position. But AI quitting on his team has put a serious dent on their team morale. After Dumars lets Iverson walk, I hope he spends that 22 million caproom on some talent that is less inept and stubborn as Iverson.

Meanwhile LeBron has not only succeeded in helping his team as a legit contender, but he has also made the lockerroom a tight unison. That more than anything will prove the difference in this series.

Pistons in 7 or they get swept, there won't be any grey area. This is the first time in 7 years the Pistons have had to work to make the playoffs.

New coach, new PG, w/o Rasheed and Rip for large portions of the season. Pistons also don't have to carry AI's ego as they did throughout the regular season.

They are playing like a team again without Iverson even showing up to games these days, turns out he helps the team best by staying home. I hope Detroit makes it interesting.

Really? Detroit in 4?

That is tough to fathom, although anything could happen. I wouldn't want to play the Cavs right now, but IMO they are not as bulletproof as they seem.

Detroit is banged up and confused...I really don't know what pistons team is gonna show up....If they get blown out the first 2 games...It might just be a sweep...

I don't know if Detroit is gonna be competitive

I am going to the game tomorrow. VIP Club seats. All you can eat food, all you can drink pop, beer & wine.

I also saw on the website that fans attending tomorrow's game will receive a "One Goal" t-shirt & rally towel.

I think Cleveland is gonna win. I would almost put a couple dollars on it. Wait. It's a certainty. Unless..... What if Lebron and Mo got some kind of misc. injuries while doing a one on one dance off against eachother? Nevermind.... I'd still take Cleveland.:D

I thought it was funny that Will Bynum was the only guy playing hard and the rest of the Pistons were like 'whatever, you weren't there during our glory days.'

This game they just let Bynum shoot his way to hopefully a guaranteed NBA contract...as opposed to starting for some Euroleague squad. Pretty sad how that era ended for Dee-Troit Basketball.

Even though for cap room I understand why Dumars gambled on the Iverson trade...but it was obvious Billups was the heart of those contending Piston teams and it was ripped out.

Meanwhile Iverson has proven he has the maturity level of a 16 year old and feels nothing for sacrificing personal success for winning team basketball. Oh what a year of revelations it has been.

Sheed checked out last year-why didn't the Pistons try to move him then? And nobody could have predicted that the trade would destroy the team like that. It still doesn't justify the lack of effort I saw in Pistons games.

Fast Facts

• The Cavaliers became the only team to sweep their series in the first round and just the third team to sweep a team by winning each game by a double-digit margin (1980 Celtics and 2004 Pacers).

• The Cavaliers improved to 5-2 in games in which they can clinch a playoff series on the road under Mike Brown. Prior to Brown's arrival, Cleveland clinched only one playoff series with a victory on the road in 1992 at New Jersey.

• LeBron James led the Cavaliers with 36 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. He finished the series averaging 32.0 points, 11.3 rebounds and 7.5 assists, becoming just the third player in NBA history to average at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in a single postseason series (Larry Bird and Oscar Robertson are the others).

• James became just the second player in NBA history to accumulate at least 1,300 points, 400 rebounds and 350 assists in his first 50 career postseason games (Oscar Robertson was the other).

^Which is why they need to blow it up, completely. When you have that kind of effort and what not, you need to blow it up completely and start over. Get rid of all your vets, rip, tay, sheed, mcdyess, all of em. get the nice young pieces/picks you can for them and rebuild around stuckey and what you get back.
