I'm pretty sure they can do both but #8 has all the glitz ..... I say 8 should be in the rafters without a doubt

I think it'll end up being both. I think he'll probably win a title wearing #24, so they'll probably retire both.

You wouldn't happen to be playing NBA Live 07 would you? Whenever you play with or against the Lakers in that game, Stever Kerr askis this question.

#8. Its annoying how he changed his number.

It makes sense though. He was working on changing his image, and seperating himself from the #8 Kobe, in a manner, was something he needed to do. Plus, number change for a player with almost a cult following like Kobe = boost in jersey sales. Why do you think the Cavs wear 5 different jersey's? Sales driven. Not that that was the sole reason behind the change, but it was surely part of it.

If he can get a ring with the #24, then both. But even if not, they'll probably retire both.

I think both if possible.

But if not, I would say 8 because he won 3 titles and he had more success with that number(so far atleast).

Only 8. He'll never win a championship with 24. Muahahaha :laugh2: so they'll retire what number he had the most success.

Get OFF Kobe's nuts all you LAKERS FANS! No way in hell do they retire both numbers. Thats some nonsense!!!!!

I say they let Kobe choose which number he wants to retire. #8 has all the titles and that 81-point game, but Kobe wasnt considered the best player in the game till 24 and for some reason Kobe loves his high school number (24). So let him choose, but for you guys to say both is ridiculous!

24 for sure but they may not let another Laker wear #8. He's the MVP with #24, led his team to 1st in the West two years straight, won the WCF last year and will be among the favorites to win it all for the next few years. When all is said and done #24 will be more accomplished than #8.

Including Lakers' fans. What is your point. If you can't take a little humor in your life, I feel very sorry for you.

And FYI, usually when responding to a quote, you type below it.....not to mention, you don't have to take my name out of the quote when calling me out, I can take it. Unless in all those posts, the quote button still doesn't work for you.

Back to topic, I think Kobe could choose one number or the other. And for all he's done for the franchise, he could choose both. With basketball and the small number of players on a roster, retiring a number isn't as big of a deal.
