There's not so much i can say! The guy's a washed up terrible pitcher! Why didn't we give that spot to Brian Bass. At least he was 28 and could throw strikes. I think this has been Dave Trembley's worse Decision yet:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::m ad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::m ad: Your thoughts

I think its a good decision, he won't accept a minor league assignment, so he has to at least make the team, the gave him a rotation spot because if he does well, awesome, but if not, we can option or release him, its a low risk medium reward investment, but if he sucks, we don't want to wait until July to find out, its not like we are competing this year, why not?

I think it was smart. Let him start, if he sucks, release him and bring Bass in.

Rich Hill is hurt. That's the only reason why.

He kills the Mets. Unfortunatley, that doesn't do much for you. Other than that, Eaton is absolute crap. Just be happy you don't have to pay him 8 million like we do!

If this team had any starting pitching we would be able to contend this year. Our lineup is solid. Guthrie is good but really should be a #3 starter. I just hope when our young arms come up in a year or two there will be enough position players around. It looks like Jones, Markakis, Weiters and Roberts will be there but we lack corner infielders in the minors. Rowell isn't doing as well as hoped and I don't know if Brandon Snyder will make an impact. Mora and Huff will only be productive for 1, 2 years if lucky.

haha o's boy 15 called it! Eaton sucked today! If you can rarely through a fastball in the 90's you better be good at letting outs, and guess what, he's sucks at that too, he let so many peoplel on base. Hopefully, it was just one start.

Rich Hill is hurt guys... not sure why you guys are freaking out. It's not like Eaton's gonna be here for long.

He only gave up four runs, he only walked two, and he threw 64 of 100 pitches for strikes. That's probably the best start you'll get from him all season.

it figures that the first game i go to i get stuck watching this clown pitch, me and my gf ended up leaving in the bottom of the 6th and going to a liquor store

I don't know what the situation is for Bass, but Albers has options left.

I actually think Eaton pitched better than his stat line. His breaking ball impressed me and had Rays fooled early. Rays hit some pretty good pitches. I would like to see a couple more starts out of Eaton before I place judgment.

On the other hand Bass has looked pretty awful in the two losses. With all the arms at AA and AAA you gotta think he won't be around long if he continues to throw like that.

^^ Of course. People just read the stats and think he pitched crappy. His fastball was actually good, and his breaking pitches were hitting the spots on the plate. It really was more of the Rays good hitting then Eaton's bad pitching. And Bass has indeed looked pretty bad in his appearances.

I understand that but why give the spot to Eaton?????????????????????????? Did you see him the other game against the Rays???????????????????????????
I hope Rich Hill comes back soon;) The spot should have been given to Albers.

Eaton has maybe 2 more starts to show a pulse...by then maybe Hill or Albers will be
back.., Bass and Eaton can then be DFA. Still don't see anyting in Bass and never did.
Albers showed alot of promise until he got injured. If we had to wait for Hill a little long
maybe Baez could get a spot start or ...maybe Bergesen

His next start should be against the Sox. Hate the Sox with a passion but that will probably be his last start. I see the Sox lighting him up. Doesnt look good.

eaton isn't that bad....look at his game by game stats last year. he had some terrible outings, but he also threw some very good games.

he had a pretty darn good game last night. If he can consistently pitch like that, we'll be happy to have him.

9Ks and no walks. What a great outing. Maybe he knew any more bad games gets him packing. Hope he pitches like that more often.
