NEW YORK -- ESPN tapped three on-air personalities to move West to anchor shows from the network's soon-to-open Los Angeles production facility.

The facility will host the 1 a.m. ET edition of "SportsCenter," the network's signature show, five days a week starting April 6. The 1 a.m. ET edition will be anchored by Neil Everett and Stan Verrett, who work at ESPN's Bristol, Conn., headquarters but will move to California.

A third anchor, Stuart Scott, will begin working from the Los Angeles bureau in April. ESPN said that he would host "a select number of shows" from there.

The facility adjacent to the Staples Center is part of LA Live, which also has a hotel, theater and restaurants. There, ESPN will have two studios, three production control rooms, two master control rooms, eight edit suites, a voiceover room and other infrastructure for more than 12,300 feet.

The Los Angeles ESPN Radio station will relocate nearby. Judi Cordray is GM and will oversee production of the studio, which is owned by ESPN subsidiary Los Angeles Cable Sports Production.

Hopefully now the West coast baseball teams will get more Pub.Any thoughts?

seriously read my damn mind.

It only took 10 years for ESPN to get their head out of their ***, and ever since they have been accused of being biased towards the east they have tried to cover the West and now have started to over cover them.

Frankly, its the mid west that is the most shafted in their baseball coverage.

So true.

I agree, it doesn't change a thing, although I suppose they ar emaking an effort to change public perception.

At the end of the day they will hype whatever it is that will give them a bigger return. Their college football "analysis" is the one that irks me the most.

I wouldn't imagine anything. That place is absolutely massive (like a small college), so I don't think they are going to ever pick up and leave that place

Two championships, two of the last three no-hitters, came back from down 7-0 with only 7 outs left in an elimination game....ROY, MVP, play in the most competitive division in baseball....the whole Manny Saga, all in the last few years.

Gosh, what in the world would there be to talk about the Red Sox? Boo-hoo, it must be NESPN. "Why arn't they reporting who won the last sausage race in Milwaukee??"

because you guys are the least knowledgable sports fans on this site and cry about everything. ESPN is in Conn and is more BIASED towards the Yanks than the Sox.

Eh. I don't really care about ESPN covering the Midwest. We have the St. Louis Post-Dispatch here and a few sports radio programs, Twitter, etc.

ESPN has been dead to me for years. Could care less. When they decided to give hacks like Jay Mariotti and Skip Bayless a voice, I pretty much jumped ship. That, and the majority of their anchors stopped being funny/witty 10 years ago.

Sports are ideal in the west, not the east.

Moving to the east, and the sports were the biggest adjustment. Waiting til 1pm for football to start, and games going well past midnight...

Gotta love knowing that all games are done by 10:30pm.
