It's impressive, but I don't think the "2,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in a season at least four times club" is prestigious. It just speaks to both of these guys incredible all around game and having the body to do it.

I hate when the NBA uses raw stats to compare players from different era's. Totally useless information

How is this useless info? He's already got more 2000/500/500 seasons than Jordan(2), Bird (3) and Havlicek (2) In only 6 seasons in the league! that is incredible. Anybody who doesn't agree is just an idiotic hater that doesn't know enough about this game to appreciate moments like this.

Your so right, i like Kobe better than lebron, but i know when i see greatness, and this kid has it, stop being Lebron haters....its not like we have anything else to talk about on this forum, we basically repeat the same questions ever week.

its just so ridiculous when "fans" of basketball hate on guys out of jealousy. This game has no room for people like that.

do u know the difference between the eras? cuz if u did, then ud realize that this is all the more impressive. When Big O played, they averaged 500 points a game per team. in actuality it was like 105-115 shots per game compared to now with around 80-85 shots a game. AND ON TOP OF THAT, Oscar averaged like 4-5 more minutes per game in the first half of his career.

all that means is less opportunity to compound stats. so this fact, while not paramount and earth-shattering, is relevant and cool.

but u can go ahead and dismiss all this as immaterial.

I hate how the NBA has all these "records" bring up the big ones, game/season/career. Not these that stats that no one has ever heard of until they write the article bringing it up.

I agree. It is weird how they all of a sudden create criteria to match a player. I'm just curious on what they use to get this information. Where do they have this information stored?

I do. He's done it the second most amount of times. That's an amazing acomplishment.

Lebron is an amazing young man. I know I have never seen an athlete like him and most would agree. I'm blown away by the numbers this guy puts up. He is definitely in a class by himself and there won't be another one like him.

I'm not saying that what Lebron did/is doing isn't amazing, I just think its goofy of the NBA to come out with these somewhat odd stat combinations and say, look what he's done, that only these other guys have. I'm sure LeBron is honored to be in the 2000 500 500 club, but it's just a goofy arbitrary pool of numbers. I mean, how many guys are in the 1900 450 450 club? It's goofy, since when is 2000 500 500 any kind of goal or mark you set out out for?

Exactly!!!

I remember someone came out with a stat that showed that KG had the most 20 10 4 seasons. I'm curious why did they limit it to 4 apg.

I hope the next club that he will join is winning an NBA Championship as the number 1 option of your team.

Its useless because the difference in era's changes the value of the stats. But also because its an arbitrary standard.

Your on the right track. I never said it wasnt impressive but you cant compare apples to grapes. Once the NBA learns this they will be able to market Bron's milestone properly.

Ok yeah I see what you're saying. I think it's dumb sometimes too. They make new clubs all the time. Like the 1000/798/234 club for guys 22 years and 4 months old and under.

Remember when they used to say Marbury and Oscar Robertson were the only players to average 20+8 for their careers. Thats another useless club

well said. LeBron is something the NBA has never seen before. Even if you are a devout Kobe fan, and hate the fact that LeBron is considered better by many, you still have to respect the fact we are watching history. The kid is the chosen one.

No, it was 20/10/5. He beat out Larry Bird for most consecutive 20/10/5 seasons with 6 straight seasons.

I could have added more criteria to the list. What happens if we change it to say who has the most 2000 500 500 and shooting 50%+ FG?

No stat that shows Marbury as the GOAT is useless.

Well that's even worse because Stephon Marbury was at his "peak" while Oscar Robertson finished out his career. Marbury will probably end up with 15/5 if he only plays one more year and that's very average.
