As the title says.

Try not to pick obvious ones, ie: Lebron & Iverson = Football; Kobe & Nash = soccer

Jason Maxiell looks like he'd be a beast of a Linebacker.

Devin Harris would probably excel in track and field.

Shaq would probably make a good Goalie in Hockey, considering he would take up the whole net.

well, the NBA has the biggest and fastest athletes in the world, so I would guess a high number of them could play another pro sport
How about seeing Craig Smith lined up at Defensive End? Yikes!

Kevin Love at Quarterback (if you have seen his full court outlet passes, you know what I mean)

Gerald Wallace could be an insane volleyball player. Most nba players that can jump would be.

Dwight howard would be a good tight end and shaq a fullback on 3rd downs. The fridge would have nothing on shaq he makes him look like a mini fridge. Just throw it up to dwight you think a 5"10 corner could gaurd a 7"0 guy I think not.

That's the first one I was going to mention :( :p

:laugh2: That would be awesome...

I don't know, I think Ray Allen could play netball...

I've heard that Tim Duncan used to be a swimmer. Someone mentioned Devin Harris would be good in track and field, I think you need to put Tony Parker and Leandro Barbosa in there as well, probably some more guys I'm forgetting.

What about Dwight Howard in the shot put? He'd launch it into orbit...

I was talking to my friend about this and I would have to say, Derrick Rose as a WR would work really well. He is 6'3'' (an awesome size for WR), is really fast and can out jump anyone.

Oh yeah that reminds me...there was some joke a while ago that Kobe was going to leave the Lakers to play WR for the Eagles. Phil Jackson was then asked about Kobe and Jordan playing WR, and Jackson said Jordan had big hands, whilst Kobe had small but very good hands...so maybe those guys could play a bit of WR?

Hey Phil Jackson is 6'9" as well...maybe he could have played some TE when he was younger?

Oh and Shaq would be a great soccer goalie...he would hardly have to move around.

He could catch anything with one hand.

Considering that a NBA player could do 'great' in another sport is being too generous. Remember, these guys are professional basketball players, and conditioned for basketball only. I think they'd do decent and/or good in another sport but not great.

not true. They are great at a sport that requires a blend of size, speed, reaction, and quick decisions. So is football, soccer, or most team sports for that matter. Are you really telling me that Dwayne Wade for example, a 6'4", 215 lb, 40"+ vertical, who runs a 40 in probably 4.5-4.6, couldn't make it as a great WR if that is the sport he choose when he was 15?? C'mon dude. Just like Randy Moss may be playing in the NBA right now if that is what he wanted to do coming out of Marshal instead of football. Danny Ainge was drafted by the Blue Jays out of UCLA. Matt Harpring WAS a football player, and had a scholarship offer but choose GT for basketball instead. Great athletes are great athletes. Period.

where would Kobe play?? He has tiny hands, he would never be a WR. I don't think Kobe is a football player. I would like to see what he could do in soccer, or maybe tennis. He is so fast and has the best reaction time

yea just saw that... he's really not that good... he could barely reach the net from half... any and every soccer player can hit the net from half easy... and most of the other ones you guys are talking about are way off too realisticlly...

shaq as a hockey goalie would have the puck go through his legs 5 times a game... he wouldn't be able to get down and if he gets down he won't be able to get up...

in terms of football theres a reason theres no 7 foot olinemen... in the running game the lowest man wins... shaq won't be the lowest man... he might do as a goal line full back but if he's only in for that one play then thats not really excelling at the sport...

in terms of volleyball every player could spike yea but volleyball is much more then just spikes...

i don't think there are many basketball players tough enough to play football... when ur that big playing football you knees are pretty much a target...

i don't think there are many who could EXCEL at other sports...

I think he played some when he was growing up in Italy. He's said before that playing soccer, the way it's played there has helped him to see plays before they happen and stuff, which has helped him a lot in basketball.

Something like that, I read it in an interview, although I can't remember where I saw it...

Pretty sure Iverson won a state championship as a qb, and was pretty highly recruited as a qb going to college.
