Cavs would most likely face the Pistons or Bulls

Lakers would most likely face....um well it could be 2-8 right now lol so all of those teams

The Lakers, they'll face a superior opponent to whoever the cavs face. Could even be another 50 win team. Maybe.

Is the 8 seed in the west even gona be over .500? Its probably the Lakers, thats what I voted for, but the more I think about it I think its pretty even. I don't think either team will lose, but I really don't see the Lakers losing and I can see the Cavs losing, but that might be the homerism talking

First, you forgot the blazers can't win at staples, and correct me if I'm wrong, but we have HCA all over the west.

Then,I think people underestimate the bulls, they'll give cleveland hard times, mark my words.

Lakers would have HCA and the Blazers arent exactly a great road team, they also havent won at Staples this year....

No Brainer. Lakers.

We can't expect Bulls or Bobcats to take down Cavs in a 7-game series, without homecourt advantage.

Here's how it is IMO

Lakers are a much superior team than the Cavs IMO. Bynum may be coming back for them in the playoffs which makes them even more dangerous.

Cavs have played in a pretty weak conference. Ben Wallace won't be healthy come playoff time.

You Stop LeBron, you stop the Cavs. I don't think the same can be said with the Lakers.

You stop Kobe, you have to deal with Gasol, Odom, Bynum.

The Bulls have beaten the Cavs this year already, and that was before the trade for Miller and Salmons which has made us a lot better.

I think the Bulls have a very good shot of winning the series if they find a plan to contain LeBron. Tyrus Thomas watching LeBron on the defensive end could be the X-Factor here people. He gave LeBron fits in the series this year on D.If the Bulls beat the Cavs, Tyrus Thomas will be the x-factor on Lebron in this one.:)

Haven't most Laker fans in this thread said the Lakers are most likely to get upset?

The Lakers if they face the Suns, which is what I am hoping for. The Cavs if the Lakers get the easy sweep in Dallas.

Good Lord, I hope we don't play the Suns. Every time we play them there's some terrible tear-fest montage about Shaq and Kobe, I really can't take another 4-7 of them, they're terrible, and old!!!

Anyways, like someone said earlier, the Lakers could face anyone who's seeded 2-8 right now, so I think we're most likely to get upset. I like our chances against anyone in the West, but if we somehow get San Antonio, Denver or Portland, I think they could all beat us.

Cavs...its much easier to come up with a gameplan to stop them. IMO Cavs will not make the Finals with or without homecourt.

That may actually work against us. There's been some thinking that he may not make it back until after the play-offs have started. I love Bynum, but it would be very tough to try and work him back into the game in the first round should we draw the Spurs...

I dont think either team has a shot of losing in the 1st round, but if you have to pick its the Lakers. The competition is much harder out west from top to bottom. The Cavs won't lose in a 7 game series to a below .500 team, no chance in hell.

what54!?
03-24-2009, 12:44 PM
neither but since the 8th seeded eastern conference team will have a below 500. record, the lakers. Although the mavs stand no chance against them

Sorin564
03-24-2009, 01:07 PM
I would say the Cavs. They are more than likely playing the Bulls in the first round. The bulls, after their trades, have been playing tough basketball. The Lakers with Bynum back are nearly unstopable

I understand everyone's logic that the Cavs will have an easier opponent than the Lakers, but the Lakers will be far more superior than their opponent just as the Cavs will. No chance either one loses in the first round. People love saying it for the sake of argument, but I don't see the Lakers having any problems in the Western Conference playoffs. People say look out for San Antonio, Utah, and New Orleans. Please. Those are good teams, but the Lakers are a great team on a mission.

^^^Have to agree with you ddaughtry. Neither team will lose in the first round. Both teams have HCA which should make it easy for them. Think the Cavs have easier though because they are going to be playing the weaker team. Although if Lakers play Mavs I can see them having the easier way out of the 1st round because I think the Mavs can't play with them.

Cavs vs. Bulls (Cavs in 5)
Cavs vs. Pistons (Cavs in 6)

Lakers vs. Mavs (Lakers in 5)
Lakers vs. Anyone Else, Portland, SA, NO, Houston, Utah, etc. (Lakers in 6)

They haven't played our much improved team yet either. We have the guys to contain Lebron. Earlier when we played them, Lebron went 8-28 against us. He killed us the other games, but the last game we figured out how to stop him.

Its the Western Conference, I mean LA, who has the best chance of an upset. The 8th seed is a good team out of the West. The 8th seed is a below .500 team out of the east. Easy bet.

Dallas has already secured a winning season, and if the Suns make it, that'd mean they would have had to also. The west isn't the east.

Lakers w/o a doubt. There gunna have 2 face Mavs or Jazz, sumeone whos going 2 end up w/ 51 wins. While a 40 win bulls is going to face cavs, and its only lucky if they get 40.
