Wouldn't this be interesting?

If the Knicks whooped the Cavs ***, I think it would be automatic LeBron joining the Knicks in 2010.

If the Knicks took them to anything over 4 games it would at least show any 2010 star that there's enough talent already there. Usually superstars don't join teams that already are playoff caliber without them.

That would be funny. I just want to get to the playoffs first, I'll worry about who we play when we get there :)

energy of the garden during playoff time would be a bit too much for them to get swept

as much as i'd like to see that happen..there is no way the knicks will knock out the cavs.

the only reason there would be energy in the Garden is the fans chanting "MVP" for Lebron. Knicks wouldnt win a game.

Lebron would let us win to make us look good when he joins us in 2010 :)

Pretty sure the MVP is decided before the post season. But good one.

Yeah, but aren't more than half of the Knicks current roster out of contract in 2010?
LeBron doesn't wanna be involved in another rebuilding process, especially if the Cavs win a title or get real close to winning one.

Anyway, I see it being a Cleveland sweep if this is the first round match up.
LeBron excels at MSG and the Cavs are near unbeatable at the Q.

None of them are in any hurry to leave. The only major decisions we will have to make with what we have now regards the fate of Nate Robinson and David Lee. I'd love to keep both but it's either going to be one of those guys (unless Donnie Walsh pulls off some great moves unloading Curry, JJ, etc), Wilson Chandler, and Danilo Gallinari as the future of the Knicks along with whoever we sign in 2010 (Doesn't have to be Lebron) and any other solid FA acquisition or player through trade.

although it would be really interesting, i think a celtics vs knicks matchup would be much more interesting

stephon marbury would get a chance to get back at the knicks. a motivated player with as much talent as stephon would be very dangerous

The last time the Knicks and Cavs played at the garden the Knicks could have won that game, so I don't think it would be as lopsided as everyone is saying. They have absolutely no shot of beating them @cleveland, but they could make it interesting at the garden.

I'd rather see the Bobcats or Bulls, they at least have a chance of winning a game.

no one in the 8th spot stands a chance

Knicks fans would probably just be cheering 2010 and cheer Lebron.

then he see's how unfaithful knicks fans really are, and resigns with cleveland this off-season.

Lets remember, the knicks will have to convince lebron to take 30mill less and that they could contend. Plus they would need a new coach and better players.

No and no... it's about 20-23 million less (in salary that is) and D'Antoni is not being replaced.

I love how you think you can say that without someone bringing up Kobe getting MVP chants in Boston. Sure it can happen to us during a few regular season games but the playoffs? You're joking.

People overrate the mvp chants in Boston. If I remember it right it was at the end of the game when the stadium was emptying out, and it was mostly Laker fans there. In New York the crowd was oooing and ahhhing at everything James did, I don't think it would be that much of a difference from the regular season when they would go to New York in game 3 down 2-0.

I think the Knicks might surpise a few people if they make the playoffs this year. Sort of like a Warriors/Hawks type thing. I don't think they will beat the Cavs honestly, but if I were the Cavs I wouldn't let my guard down.
