Iverson is good friends with Lou Williams (of the Sixers), who went on a Philly radio station and told the hosts that Iverson wants out of Detroit. If I was Iverson, I'd knock Williams the **** out. Why does he think he can talk on Iverson's behalf?

I am not surprised. But Lou shouldn't have said that, that could cause some commotion in Detroit and you don't want that when it's playoff time.

Who's gonna want AI? How much will he get in the offseason? I think he might have to settle for the MLE somewhere.

Changed title to "Rumor:..." as this is a report from a secondhand source and not something that Iverson has directly said in public himself.

He don't have to wait long considering his contract is up this year.

well i understand sort of why dumars would make this trade, but the nuggets are coming out of this like bandits now.

It's not like Detroit can trade him, and they never had any plans to re-sign him in the first place. So I don't really think this is a very big deal. If he wants out, then he can leave next year.

well, he didn't publicly say it, apparently he told Lou Williams that he's unhappy in Detroit. So, don't blame AI for telling his friend that he was unhappy there. It's not like he got on the radio and said these things. If he doesn't like playing there that's fine, other players would come out and say it but he didn't go spouting off to the media about it.

If iverson wants a happy ending to his career then he better go back to phili. Im not even a 76ers fan but it be nice to see him back there. or he will continue getting moved around to teams that dont know how to use him. at least he will be embraced by his team and fans if he goes back to phili. and that team is a pure run and gun team now he would do good there. cmon allen you know you should have never left in the first place.

oh damn. I can already see Iverson fussing this offseason about getting the money he deserves.

AI doesn't care about the money, if you followed his career closely you'd know that the thing he cares about most is winning. At this point in his career he just wants to go to a place where he can play an integral part on a championship team, regardless of how much money he makes.

why do you say that? what has AI ever done that's cowardly? and even if he did join the Celtics, how does that make him a coward? Nobody called Karl Malone or Gary Payton a coward for joining the Lakers to try and get a championship before they retired.

Im not surprised neither. He doesnt fit in with Detroit at all. He the type of player that has to be the man but the way Detroit plays, anyone can be the man at any point of any game.

Definitely not cowardly to go somewhere where you have the best chance to win a ring. In fact, I can't think of any players at all in the NBA who I consider cowardly. Ok, maybe Kenny Thomas...

Lou just said it was his opinion that AI doesnt want to be in Detroit. No where did he even imply that AI has said this to him, just what he thinks.

I think McNabb wants out of Philly, but has he ever said that. No just someones opinion.

It makes sense. Iverson was put into a ill-fitting system by an ignorant general manager. Of course it's not going to work out trying to make Iverson the main distributor. If a team would let him play off the ball as a shooting guard, he could still average 27 points per game.

tjp2033
03-14-2009, 07:19 PM
well Iverson is a free agent at the end of the season anyway. Thats why Detroit brought him in. Just to patch from Billups to Stuckey. AI probably won't care that Lou said that because he wont be going back to Detroit next year anyway. My guess is he will sign in Phoenix or NY.
